Many of Rust College's graduates left school during their high school years or even earlier. However, after leaving Rust they go on to achieve great things and make substantial contributions as physicians, teachers, lawyers and ministers, among other professions. Located in Holy Springs, Mississippi, Rust College is one of the oldest historically black colleges in the United States. Since its beginnings, Rust has helped students of all backgrounds to reach their highest potential. A Methodist college, Rust is committed to imparting academic knowledge as well as spiritual and moral values to its students so that they might go on to successful careers and live lives of service. Rust College offers degrees in more than 20 subject areas. These include business administration, elementary and secondary education, English, music, broadcast and Print Journalism, Computer Science and Sociology. Part of the experience at Rust includes religious education and activities. Services and fellowships are held regularly. There are also student religious organizations not only for Methodists, but for Catholic and Baptist students also. Student associations committed to service within the community may be found at Rust as well. In addition to these activities Rust has many recreational activities, lounge areas, sports teams and Greek organizations so that students may have fun and unwind. Rust's student body is small, and with most students living on campus in dorms and residences, its possible to get to know fellow students easily. Since classes also remain quite small it is also quite possible to get one-on-one attention and mentorship from Rust faculty.
