We are looking to fill a specialist position to run the logistics of a large USDA -funded field research project on forestry and native bee species at research sites in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. In the off-season, the specialist will work in the Winfree lab at Rutgers University to identify the collected bee specimens and process DNA samples from pollen for barcoding identification. The position is full-time with flexible hours but requires highly specialized research skills and willingness to work at remote field sites for part of the year. The selected individual will 1) develop experimental design of field research, including bee monitoring techniques and logistics, 2) coordinate with public and private landowners where research takes place, including submission of research permits, and 3) process molecular data from pollen samples and identify bee species. Competitive applicants will have substantial experience organizing and running large-scale field experiments as well as high-level skills in bee species identification and knowledge of next generation sequencing techniques.

Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Working under general supervision, the Research Assistant 2 will plan, carry out, and provide project support, community and participant engagement, and technical support within an applied nutrition research lab in accordance with general plans. The lab explores behavioral design strategies to enhance diet quality and reduce environmental impact, including food waste. Objectives of current research projects include improving human and planetary health through food as medicine interventions that influence food literacy and behaviors (e.g., cooking frequency, dietary quality, reduced food waste) to promote improved health outcomes.
The Nourish study evaluates a hands-on culinary and food skills intervention that aims to improve diet quality, reduce household food waste, and reduce stress by improving food and cooking skills, with a focus on improvisational cooking and creating flavor. The research assistant will help coordinate this complex study involving participants from the Cleveland community and approximately 15 undergraduate research assistants.
MealSim examines school nutrition program characteristics that impact child fruit and vegetable consumption and waste during school lunch. The research assistant will coordinate communication and collaboration with school nutrition program staff that participate in MealSim and contribute to data management.
Future projects will involve collaborating with K-12 schools, hospitals, food banks, and community partners to improve health through food and nutrition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Oversee inventory, scheduling, and accurately update and maintain the Team Google Calendar. Track and coordinate participant incentives and other lab purchases using Excel. Order office supplies, schedule staff, students, and space reservations for interventions, participant consent and data collection meetings at multiple on and off campus locations using campus space reservation systems. Coordinate participant payments and maintain accurate bookkeeping. (20%)
* Lead Participant Recruitment efforts. Recruit, engage, and retain research participants using telephone, e-mails, and GroupMe communication in accordance with regulatory and research protocols. (20%)
* Internal Communications. Maintain daily communication with the principal investigator and other leadership staff and students regarding updates to scheduling, lab flow, and any updates or deviations from study protocols or data collection. * Coordinate research interventions: operationalize weekly culinary education classes for the Nourish intervention. * Train and guide new staff; support the work of students. Provide technical assistance and support for 10 to 15 student research assistants. * Data and records management. Contribute to entering, maintaining, cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data and participant outreach files under supervision. Follow laboratory protocols to assist with data entry, cleaning, and compiling data to evaluate behavioral outcomes in human research with data such as food waste, dietary behaviors, and Nourish intervention outcomes. This position has no direct supervision of staff employees. Train new staff and student team members and direct student work.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Science/Systems, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology or other behavior-related field and 1 to 3 years of research experience or Associate's degree in an approved biotechnology program and 2 to 4 years of research experience required. Experience in community-led or community-based initiatives and interventions preferred. Knowledge of nutrition, food, and/or culinary education a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Previous experience working with human participants in research.
* Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, Google Calendars and Zoom platforms. Experience using Canva, REDCap, SPSS, and/or R is a plus.
* Professional and effective oral and written communication skills; customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work and communicate with various individuals within and external to the university.
* Effective problem-solving skills; must demonstrate sound judgment and good decision-making.

WORKING CONDITIONS
In the office, the employee will perform repetitive motion using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. The employee will occasionally handle large inventory orders and storing kitchen gadgets. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. The employee will additionally be working in a teaching kitchen, preparing raw foods, working with gas stovetops, cleaning, sanitizing, and storing food. Some evenings will be required for interventions. Infrequent Saturday data collection may be required and if so, scheduled >4 weeks in advance. Frequently attend and conduct meetings with community partners within Greater Cleveland and participate in other activities at the Midtown Collaboration Center. Some additional travel may be required.

This position will assist in coaching student-athletes on a daily basis. This will include one-on-one instruction and coaching in a group setting. The assistant tennis coach will help the head tennis coach in coaching during practices and matches. This position will help in match set-up and match administration. This position will be involved in recruiting potential student-athletes and help the tennis program reach its roster goal. This will include contacting potential student-athletes by phone and email, conducting campus tours and evaluating the playing ability of potential student-athletes. This position will also be involved in making team travel plans, helping to monitor academic progress of team members and in helping to promote the tennis program in a variety of ways, including camps and clinics. Otterbein University in partnership with Antioch University Graduate School seeks highly motivated and eager Graduate Teaching Assistants in the Athletic program for the 2025-26 academic year in Football. Working nights and weekends is a must and minimal travel may be required.
Otterbein University, an NCAA Division III institution, competing in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Located in Westerville, OH, Otterbein is a liberal arts institution with a highly competitive athletic history.
The Graduate Teaching Assistant is a ten-month position starting August 2025, and is renewable for a second year (two years total). A spring semester 2026 start is possible. The second year appointment is contingent upon successful completion of GA duties and responsibilities. All GA's must adhere to their graduate program requirements including maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in graduate coursework in each semester of the appointment with Otterbein University or Antioch University.
Available positions:
* Coaching: The primary responsibility will be to assist the head coach in all facets of the program, including the recruitment of student-athletes, organization and planning of practices, game preparation, administrative duties, scouting and monitoring of student-athlete academic progress. Graduate Assistant for the Maker Space at The Point

Otterbein University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Maker Space at the Point who will be responsible for assisting supervising student staff, project management, events, and other tasks. Under the direction of the Executive Director, he/she/they serve(s) as support for the operation, program, Maker Space and industry relations within the Point. Must be able to work at least one evening per week. This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position starting in the Spring. Tuition waiver and bi-weekly stipend available.
Coordinates operations:
* Supports the operational needs of The Point
* Maintains records using online financial and project management support tools.
* Works closely with Facility Administrative Assistant.
* Schedules and leads tours of The Point
* Meets with potential business partners with the intention of selling memberships and/or renting physical space within The Point
* Assists with management and operations of the Maker Space
* Customer Service: Greets members and potential members, gives tours of Maker Space, assists with checking in, assists with project orders, payments, and liability waivers
* Scheduling: Helps coordinate and schedule student staff, Maker Space training sessions, workshops and events
* Project management: works with Smartsheet project management tool daily, monitors timelines (making sure all projects are on-track to completion), assigns projects, corresponds with customers, collects payments, processes invoices, assists with collections
* Daily use of cloud based financial tools: Works with QuickBooks, Stripe, ACH payments, checks, and cash transactions
* Updates website as appropriate, maintains membership page
* Manages student staff.
Supports The Point
* Collaborates with the Executive Director to maintain marketing and communication objectives through website support, social media and other print materials.
Supports Otterbein Professional Development and Corporate Engagement
* This includes but is not limited to; providing excellent customer service, tracking engagement, organizing leadership training, communicating with local professionals and corporate leaders via phone, email, and in person.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with supervising student staff
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be able to serve as a leader and work as a team member.
