"Stat" request are handled appropriately. * Maintain surgical instruments in good working condition and make sure all instruments are inspected and tested documentation of the testing per policy. * Process implantable devices, per departmental policy. * Identify items requiring special cycles/preparation. * Refer all malfunctioning surgical instrumentation to department head for repair. * Ensure all devices/instruments processed in timely manner. * Pick-up of used instruments requiring processing; delivery of sterile instruments to OR or SDS. * Maintain all areas within Central Services in a safe and clean manner. * Assist in picking OR and SDS surgical case carts. * Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor. * Meet with Vendors to maintain proper recording of all loaner's trays entering and exiting the OR/SPD Departments. * Assist in the maintenance and updates of Preference Cards. * Communicates with OR staff and physicians to ensure all needs are met for surgical cases/procedures. Qualifications: Required: * A Master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing is required. * Registered Professional Nurse with a current NJ state license * New Jersey PMHNP License * CDS and DEA * CPR certification * Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center required * Licensed by the New Jersey Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and certified by the NJBH as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in advanced practice with prescription authority required. * 2+ years of APP experience working in a psychiatric setting, managing mental illness and substance abuse disorders * Experience with medication assisted treatment (MAT) for substance abuse disorders Preferred: * Three to five years of work experience as a professional nurse. * Experience with comorbid conditions, Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorder medication management. Scheduling Requirements: * Part Time (25hrs/week) * Additional weekend coverage required Essential Functions: * Performs evaluation, treatment, counseling, and educational functions. * Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations. * Demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care for patients. * Develops plan of care for patients in coordination with multidisciplinary team and completes appropriate reports to primary care physicians and family. * Documents and maintains patient records of services provided according to facility and nursing standards. * Establishes a collaborative relationship with other medical providers. * Interviews, instructs and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. * Issues psychotropic prescriptions to patients based on Federal & State Regulations. * Orders and reviews appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Reviews all lab data and documents. * Performs and obtains a completed medical history and physical data on patients with appropriate documentation and findings. * Responsible for coordinating nursing and training programs on compliant for policies such as HIPPA, OSHA, Code of Conduct. * Responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice. * Reviews and audits charts routinely. Job Overview: The Telemetry Technician oversees and interprets the cardiac monitor for arrhythmias and changes in heart rhythm. The Telemetry Unit is a 38-bed, team-oriented unit that provides a wide variety of Medical/Surgical and diagnostic services to a diverse cardiac population i.e. congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, respiratory compromise and dysrhythmias. Qualifications: Required: * HS Diploma or GED * Completion of a cardiovascular technology course or successful completion of a telemetry/monitor technician course * Must have the ability to examine heartbeat patterns, noting heartbeat irregularities in real time and ensuring the heart monitors are functioning correctly Preferred: * At least one year of telemetry/monitoring work experience Certifications and Licenses Required: * Basic Life Support(BLS) through the American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements: * Every other weekend and a weekday * Part-Time (PT) Essential Functions: * Promotes and implements the concept of patient and family-centered care. Promotes a compassionate and supportive environment * Observes and reports to the Registered Nurse patient's response to intervention/treatments. Knows how to activate code system. Gives report on cardiac rhythm to physicians and RN as request. Gives report to oncoming telemetry technician or relief RN. Reports to RN all rhythm changes; also physicians if available. Consults with RN when in doubt of rhythm. * Communicates and records pertinent information to appropriate individuals. Record vital signs and bedside glucose testing results. Documents accurately and legibly on appropriate records. Collects specimens; labels accurately and ensures delivery to appropriate department * Prepares patient for monitoring using proper techniques in electrode placement. Removes and discontinues telemetry transmitter from patients being discharged or transferred * Cleans and disinfects equipment following procedures as assigned. Orders all supplies needed from the storeroom and central supply. Stocks all supplies in appropriate locations and reports all shortages to the charge nurse * May work in areas where medications are stored. This includes checking for expiration dates for kits, trays with meds, IV fluids, needles, etc. rotating and stocking other supplies. Occasionally, transporting the tray/kit for the nurse or physician to provide patient care * Maintains inventory of telemetry transmitters each shift. Run, interpret, and post EKG strips within 3 hours of start of shift. Maintain integrity of telemetry packs (wires, batteries, covers) * Provides and maintains a safe environment and performs proper surveillance for the prevention of falls for patients at risk. Identifies equipment problems and contacts appropriate departments for repair/replacement * Attends meetings and departmental programs as requested. Participates in inter and intra departmental activities. Participates in inter and intra Departmental activities * Maintains adequate coverage of monitors at all times. Maintains alarms on at all times. Completes all monitoring activities by the end of the shift. Completes documentation on telemetry mount sheets each shift. Makes rounds to verify patient status every two hours and PRN * Greets and assists physicians, hospital staff, patients and visitors with questions.
