SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NA EDUCATION High school graduate with vo-tech training in basic drafting technology (or equivalent working knowledge/experience), or a 2-year degree in drafting/design technology QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE This is the most senior-level drafting position where the incumbent is primarily performing complex manual drafting assignments but has not made the transition to Designer status. Normally requires a high school graduate with vo-tech training in basic drafting technology and typically 3 years related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience), or a 2-year degree in drafting/design technology and 2 years related experience. Incumbent must demonstrate proficiency in utilizing manual drafting techniques for a variety of non-routine assignments and a working knowledge of CADD for various standard applications. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepares complete sets of drawings which involve multiple views, detail drawings, assembly drawings, facilities, or systems where minimal information is provided by rough sketches and/or verbal outlines of requirements. Incumbent utilizes either manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques. * Reviews manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for necessary design information (footprint, weights, loads, etc.) * Determines material needs and makes necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references. * Supports field assignments as required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. (LOTO, Hot Work, Line Break, Confined Space, and Critical Lifts). * Verify that contractors are trained on any site specific procedures i.e., Fall Protection and Scaffolding Awareness. * Report monthly manpower numbers (individual projects to the various PMs and totals to the designated Project Control Tech) for the calculation of safety incident rates. * Confirm on-site construction personnel meet the site/Company security and safety requirements. * Witness and document contractor toolbox safety meetings. * Participate in incident reviews involving contractors. * Report Incidents to Capital Leader and the Project Engineer/Manager. * SCHEDULE * Drive construction schedules and deliverables. Purpose of the role Play an integral role in reviewing, validating and coordinating project-related invoices so our commercial commitments are accurate, timely and aligned with contract requirements.
