Working from home, out of the Columbia, SC area, you will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation, on a wide range of Instron's products. You will be provided with a company vehicle, appropriate tools/equipment, including a laptop computer, cell phone, and MI-FI device and the assurance that you have the support of well-established service operation. You will have regional responsibility from central to southeastern GA to the Charleston SC area. Occasional travel to other locations in the US may be required, as much as up to about 40% overnight travel. **Qualifications** **What We Are Looking For:** Successful applicants will have a two or four-year technical degree from an accredited university and knowledge of electro-mechanical systems. Equivalent military / trade school training may be accepted in lieu of degree. Must have the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret basic technical information involving mechanics and electronics associated with materials testing systems. Must be able to interpret blueprints and schematics, understand electrical, mechanical and electronic systems and be familiar with PC's including operating systems and Windows applications. MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position will be located in the Charleston, SC or surrounding area, reporting to the Service Manager at the Aiken, SC branch for MGX Equipment Services. * Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service; and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may also be available to those who qualify. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes. Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision. Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections. Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports. Provides excellent customer service. Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred. Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred. Must be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics. Must be able to travel 50% of the time to job sites and for training as required. Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus. Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Basic computer skills preferred.
