We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for designing, fabricating, assembling, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to plan tool and die fabrication. Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment to produce components. Build and assemble dies, jigs, molds, and fixtures for production use. Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other instruments. Inspect completed tools and dies for accuracy, function, and conformance to specifications. Assist maintenance with building and repair of tools Repair, sharpen, and maintain existing tools and dies to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling solutions. Document work performed and maintain records of tooling changes and repairs. QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment. Mazak experience necessary Strong understanding of tooling materials, heat treatment, and machining tolerances. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Must be qualified. Not to be trained. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; technical training or apprenticeship preferred. 3-5 years' experience as a tool and die maker Ability to communicate with others both written and verbally LANGUAGE SKILLS Read, write, speak, interpret English MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole, fractional and decimal numbers. REASONING ABILITY Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation. Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Walk, must be able to move about inside the manufacturing and office and occasionally on a construction site or outside of the manufacturing facility. Use hands/fingers to feel, must be able to operate computers, machinery, dimensional equipment. Sit and stand, must be able to work at a stationary desk that may require sitting or standing. Standing on concrete floor and uneven terrain will be required frequently. Climb and balance, must climb stairs and ladders. Stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl. Talk/hear, must be able to communicate with operators and management frequently and exchange accurate information. Lift and carry weights of 50lbs. Job Description To operate and make necessary adjustments to various CNC Horizontal or Vertical Machining Centers, and/or CNC Lathes to produce high quality products to required specifications. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for studying blueprints, sketches, drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequence of operations and setup requirements; Capable of visualizing finished products, making necessary mathematical calculations and determining allowances for spring, metal flows, shrinkage, fitting, finishing, etc.; Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media; Ability to recognize design errors and make necessary changes to facilitate producing or checking parts properly and reporting for corrections; Have the ability to provide technical guidance, expertise and leadership regarding design and manufacturing of fixtures; Must have the ability to train other employees as required; Load and unload parts and inspect finished parts to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications. Should be familiar with many or all of the following: Mazak and Daewoo Horizontal Machining Centers, Fadal and Haas Vertical Machining Centers, Mazak and Puma CNC Lathes; Must be familiar with machine operations and control settings for operations such as turning, boring, drilling, tapping, thread-milling, profiling and contouring.
