The Associate Analyst, Alternative Investments, Asset Review position plays a unique and central role on a team dedicated to delivering World Class customer and transaction servicing around all aspects of alternative investment processing by vetting requests to support new products against our acceptability guidelines and asset servicing capabilities.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Position Summary

The Model Risk Management Group (MRMG) within IPAM is responsible for managing model risks across the enterprise. We are seeking to hire two Associates to be members of the MRMG and work with a talented team to perform independent model reviews.

What you'll do:
Research relevant regulatory frameworks, underlying products, assumptions and methodologies.
Review model documentation, evaluate risks and propose review strategies.
Perform modeling analytics and build independent challenger models and other analytical tools as needed.
Clearly document review activities in a comprehensive model review report.
Work closely with others, both inside and outside the MRMG.
Related to model review work, this position would also have exposure to model risk assessments and model issue remediation processes.
What you'll need:
Note: This role is open to candidates with either an Actuarial or Investment/Finance background.
0-2 years of working experience in Quantitative Finance or Financial Engineering, or Actuarial Science.
Strong knowledge of life insurance products, actuarial functions and models.
B.S in quantitative fields such as Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Financial Econometrics, Physics, or other Engineering. A graduate degree is preferred.
Excellent mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills.

* Manage all aspects of the day-to-day financial responsibilities such as monthly close, annual budget/regular forecast, financial reporting, variance analysis, opportunities and risks.
* Manage, develop and create standardized financial reporting packages that will help drive and support the business and create valuable insights for management to support decisions.
* Assist with strategy and process improvements related to budgeting, forecasting, systems and other key areas to ensure alignment with market objectives; proactively identify ways to improve processes and execute agreed upon improvements
* Investigate and create opportunities for automation and more efficient methods of report creation and delivery anticipating needs of internal customers, members and other stakeholders
* Identify, analyze, and communicate trends and issues affecting the business, including addressing ad hoc financial queries or analysis, and assist to formulate and drive mitigation plans
* Represent Finance as a key stakeholder in various management meetings
* Support financial reporting process for all major localization initiatives
* Check and maintain the integrity of financial models and add improvements where possible.
* Build and maintain tools and reports; may serve as a go-to resource for financial technology (e.g.. Hyperion, Oracle)

* Master's in Finance or CPA preferred
* Excellent finance skills including modelling/business case development and scenario analysis, budget, planning and forecast experience
* Strong experience of expense forecasting and variance analysis; experience of Technology expense forecasting is a plus
* Ability to translate complex information into simple parts
