PRIMARY FUNCTION: With minimal direct supervision, will operate a concrete mixer truck on public streets and highways as well as construction sites to transport and deliver concrete material. Suitable candidates are required to have valid CDL Class A or B North Carolina Driver's license and good driving record.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Ready Mix ConcreteTruckDriver
1.) Climb on, over and around a company vehicle in order to perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as well as to secure loads.
2.) Climb up and down concrete mixer trucks using ladder, doing repetitive motion to inspect concrete mix consistencies and perform Quality Control checks.
3.) Lift truck hoods, product or equipment and tools necessary to perform inspection, repair, loading and unloading of trucks.
4.) Support and assist shop personnel with any required repairs.
5.) Wash trucks, clean truck cabs, climb up and down truck washing facilities.
6.) Operate the vehicle in a safe, lawful and courteous manner at all times.
7.) Keep vehicle, cab interior and exterior clean and mixer drums free from concrete buildup, stones, debris and loose objects.
8.) Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.
9.) Maintain contact with appropriate managers by radio or GPS to inform them of delays, problems, or unusual situations.
10.) Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customer's including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
11.) Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance when reporting to work and throughout the day.
12.) Maintain and keep any operator logs and or other documentation required by regulations or the company.
13.) All necessary work must be performed while complying with all company policies and procedures.
14.) Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Work Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year experience in driving a commercial vehicle is preferred but not required.
Current medical examination certificate with card.
Other:
Must have a good work ethic, be dependable, on-time and have a regular and predictable attendance.
Job requires various hours that may include nights and weekends.
Must be able and willing to work overtime if needed.
Dependable transportation.

General Summary:

Maintains a clean and orderly work area and meets other housekeeping needs as required by Sunrock MSHA 30 CFR 56.20003 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22
Works in a safe manner while complying with all company policies and procedures.
Safely operates a concrete mixer equipped with either a manual or automatic transmission, to deliver concrete mix to job sites while following all traffic regulations in a safe manner.
Ensures quality product via water addition - Check ticket for specific instructions related to additional water. No water may be added exceeding those instructions.
Upon arrival to the job, slump is to be inspected. If it is below the specified amount, add enough water to obtain the specified slump. This water will be recorded on the back of the delivery ticket, not on the front.
If the customer requests additional water, either to exceed the specified slump or to maintain the slump for extended periods, written authorization must first be obtained on the appropriate line on the back of the ticket. This authorization is required for each addition of water; you must also note the approximate yardage left in the truck and number of gallons added.
Additional water will be totaled on the back of the delivery ticket, and all water requested by the customer must be listed on the front.
Each truck will be required to maintain 50 gallons for post pour cleanup.
Provides good customer service by effectively and professionally communicating with customers, Dispatch, and other RMC staff.
Drives truck safely into loading position to receive mix components such as sand, crushed stone, cement, and water.
Reads the delivery ticket to determine type of mix to be hauled, additional products to be carried, directions to jobsite, and special instructions.
Adjusts slump as needed to deliver within specifications.
Understands slump (consistency of product) and the effects of time and temperature on the slump.
Demonstrates ability to be flexible with work hours, performing overtime when needed in all weather conditions, and understands that truck assignments (regardless of transmission type) are based on business needs and availability.
Assembles extension chutes when needed to reach the area where the concrete needs to be placed.
Required Skills and Abilities:
A valid Class A or B CDL is required with the ability to maintain a good driving record
Ability to provide proof of or obtain DOT medical card and job specific physicals
Ability to obtain Job Ready Services physical required

Ensures quality product via water addition - Check ticket for specific instructions related to additional water. No water may be added exceeding those instructions.
Upon arrival to the job, slump is to be inspected. If it is below the specified amount, add enough water to obtain the specified slump. This water will be recorded on the back of the delivery ticket, not on the front.
If the customer requests additional water, either to exceed the specified slump or to maintain the slump for extended periods, written authorization must first be obtained on the appropriate line on the back of the ticket. This authorization is required for each addition of water; you must also note the approximate yardage left in the truck and number of gallons added.
Additional water will be totaled on the back of the delivery ticket, and all water requested by the customer must be listed on the front.
Each truck will be required to maintain 50 gallons for post pour cleanup.
Provides good customer service by effectively and professionally communicating with customers, Dispatch, and other RMC staff.
Drives truck safely into loading position to receive mix components such as sand, crushed stone, cement, and water.
Reads the delivery ticket to determine type of mix to be hauled, additional products to be carried, directions to jobsite, and special instructions.
Adjusts slump as needed to deliver within specifications.
Understands slump (consistency of product) and the effects of time and temperature on the slump.
Demonstrates ability to be flexible with work hours, performing overtime when needed in all weather conditions, and understands that truck assignments (regardless of transmission type) are based on business needs and availability.
Assembles extension chutes when needed to reach the area where the concrete needs to be placed.

A valid Class A or B CDL is required with the ability to maintain a good driving record
Ability to provide proof of or obtain DOT medical card and job specific physicals

Our company is capable of all types of asphalt paving projects ranging from minor repairs to larger projects incorporating asphalt reclamation and recycling, as well as new construction.
General Summary of the Position
Teamwork is a major part of every position at Ruston Paving, so it is important to note that, aside from all other listed responsibilities, you must be willing to assist others and be as productive as possible. The dump truckdriver drives trucks equipped with various configurations of dump body to transport and dump materials such as stone, asphalt, or other materials as needed. The individual in this position drives other vehicles and/or configurations as assigned and trained.
Essential Functions
The following are a list of essential functions for the position. These are responsibilities that an individual must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.
Performs daily truck equipment inspections per FMCSA guidelines to assure equipment is safe for usage.
Completes written daily inspection report as required. Submits requests for maintenance for any repair items.
Maintains truck logs or time recordings as required by state, federal, and company policies and regulations.
Assists with proper and legal loading of materials for transport.
Weighs in and out of scales for load ticketing and legal weight compliance.
Operates truck safely to and from project destination.
Maintains contact with dispatch center for instructions.
Pulls levers or turns cranks to tilt body and dump contents from tailgate or chutes.
Moves hand and foot controls for truck movement forward and backward and to loosen and dump material adhering to body.
Properly tarps load for transit.
Properly chocks wheels when leaving the truck per company guidelines.
Regularly maintains cargo area to be free of debris and is responsible for the cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the truck.
Inspects load for loose debris prior to transport.
Performs post trip vehicle inspections for vehicles driven, equipment moved, and trailers towed, noting any defects or deficiencies in writing. Written inspections are turned in to designated locations or personnel.
Performs all safety procedures required by governmental agencies and those established by Ruston Paving.
All other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
