Job Summary
This resource is critical to support the increasing business needs to make quality material engineering data available and accessible to customers for using in new application development cycle. Responsibilities Job Summary
As a Packaging Engineer Intern, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and improve packaging solutions. You'll gain hands-on experience in packaging development, sustainability initiatives, and supply chain integration while contributing to real-world projects that impact our operations and brand. Will have exposure to marketing, R & D, supply chain and sales.
Compensation: $21-$25 per hour
Location: Hoffman Estates, IL
Primary Duties
Assist in the design and development of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging
Conduct performance testing (e.g., drop, vibration, compression) and analyze results
Support sustainability efforts by evaluating eco-friendly materials and designs
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize packaging for cost and efficiency
Document packaging specifications and support compliance with regulatory standards
Participate in packaging line trials and troubleshoot packaging-related issues
Present findings and recommendations to engineering and operations leadership
OE/Lean
Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.

Summary
The Representative should be a self-starting employee who functions at a high level of capacity in several key areas, including having expertise in maintaining and repairing all equipment (including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on the Minscan), acting independently (when appropriate,) plus being available on call and handling certain administrative and record keeping functions. The Representative is the foremost image of Minteq International being the daily contact of the customer.
This position will service several locations in the NW Indiana/Illinois/Wisconsin/Iowa area. While travel is an everyday occurrence of the position, only 20% will be for overnight. A company vehicle will be provided.
Responsibilities
Be proficient in all aspects of equipment operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment, including but not limited to the Minscan, standard dry guns, wire feeders, mixer, pumps, motors etc.
Perform pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic and electrical repairs to equipment.
Read schematics and diagrams.
Keep equipment clean and in working order
Apply material (product) and use all relevant equipment as required
Follow all standard operating procedures regarding equipment and applications of product
Assist in the tracking of product inventory
Minimize usage of consumables
Actively participate in new business development.
Operate independently
Supervise self during shift
Communicate with Management regarding performance or policy compliance issues
Assist in administrative/record keeping functions
Record consumable parts usage and monitor inventory of parts
Maintain Minscan record keeping.
Submit all reports and data in a timely manner.
