Michael L. Iannazzi is vice president for Marketing and Communications at Sacred Heart University. He oversees the newly created Division of Marketing and Communications and is responsible for the University’s award-winning publications, media relations, marketing, communications, the University Web site, the Gallery of Contemporary Art and special events.

He joined SHU with more than 15 years’ experience in communications, publishing and marketing in higher education and media.

During his tenure at SHU, the University saw such milestone events as the John F. Welch College of Business being named for legendary former chairman and CEO of GE, Jack Welch, and AACSB International accreditation. Also, the University has been regularly recognized among the best by U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review while Intel ranked SHU #11 among the nation’s most “unwired” campuses in its latest rankings.

Previously, as the director of communications at the Yale School of Management, he helped develop and execute communications and marketing strategies that guided the school, for the first time in its history, into top ten national and international rankings of business schools.

Prior to Yale, he worked at Doubleday, Inc., in New York, as an editor and marketing manager for over 200 commercial fiction and nonfiction books, including a landmark six-volume encyclopedia of the Bible involving over 1,000 scholars from around the world.

Mr. Iannazzi holds a B.A. from Boston College and a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard University.
