SAFE Boats is a high- performance aluminum boat builder with record sales, and we need awesome people to help us build cool boats! In this role, you would be responsible for operating machinery and performing tasks related to the production and installation of Collars and Collars systems at SAFE Boats International, under close supervision.
What you'd be doing:
Performs all job tasks to safety standards
Performs all job tasks to quality standards
Performs all job tasks within expected timelines
Sews parts and patterns
Assembles components using a variety of hand and power tools.
Under some supervision, operates CNC cutting table to cut non-skid, carpet and fabric
Laminates and forms foam parts
Uses hot air welder to make fabric products
Operates Radio Frequency welder with minimal supervision
Assists in collar installations.
Assists in Rhino foam collar fabrication
Prepares and packages finished products for shipping or delivery
Responsible for general shop clean-up.
Provides suggestions to leadership regarding process and continuous improvement
Problem solves minor challenges/issues
What we are looking for/ Required Skills and Experience:
Working knowledge of hand and power tools and equipment.
Safely operate personal tools and shop tools.
Ability to accurately read and utilize a Tape measure.
Follow basic drawings and measurements to assemble & fabricate products.
Properly identify where to locate parts or information
Understand how to find and interpret basic work instructions

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with production on the execution of assigned projects.
Analyze project technical system performance requirements and assess feasibility.
Propose mechanical system design solutions to meet performance requirements.

The Welder/Fabricator 4 uses welding and other tools and equipment to join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal to build boats. Position is responsible for the daily coordination of assigned area. The Welder/Fabricator 4 uses welding and other tools and equipment to join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal to build boats. Position is responsible for the daily coordination of assigned area. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring standard work is being performed, and identifying and resolving quality issues. This position can apply their experience to problem solve and complete advanced tasks/work effectively and efficiently with little to no supervision.
What you will be doing:
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders.
Chip or grind off excess weld or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers & portable grinders.
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc & plasma arc.
Position and secure work pieces, using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools.
Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Expert in general safety practices, knowledgeable in SBI safety handbook and utilizes expert safety precautions with all tools and processes
Able to set up and/or verify settings on production machines and equipment
