Nature of Work This seasonal position assists year-round Recreation Division staff during a specific season (examples: summer, winter/spring breaks), or as needed by the Division. This is general lifesaving work involving the preservation of safety and order at a municipal swimming pool. Nature of Work Highly responsible, administrative, supervisory, and technical work in enforcing compliance with applicable national, state, and local laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations in the City's Building Department through reviewing construction plans and specifications of new and existing electrical installations. Work includes office and field duties, supervising the enforcement program assuring that legally established requirements for plans workmanship and materials are met with regard to electrical work throughout the City. In addition to possessing the appropriate certification from the State of Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) all Building Officials, Plans Examiners and Inspectors must also be locally certified by the Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA). If an applicant for BORA certification does not possess a current certificate from the State of Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board, the applicant must apply for a Provisional certificate as a prerequisite to "temporary certification." Provisional certificates may be issued by BCAIB to newly employed or promoted personnel, but only to those who possess the standards and eligibility requirement for a standard certification .
