Omitron safety analyst job description

Conjunction Assessment and Risk Analysis (CARA) Orbital Safety Analyst (OSA) shall perform routine screening functions as required to support the NASA Conjunction Assessment process. Individual must be qualified to perform orbital analysis and Astrodynamics Support Workstation (ASW) functions. The CARA OSA shall be trained to perform all required procedures as currently required by CARA and the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC) located on Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.. The CARA OSA uses tools, scripts, and application programs (APs) in a Linux environment to maintain the special perturbations (SP) high accuracy catalog (HAC) in the CSpOC. The OSA will work closely with CSpOC and 18th Space Control Squadron (18 SPCS) personnel in support of the overall CA process to ensure mission success.
Tasks include:
Represent NASA's interests at the CSpOC Provide routine Conjunction Assessment (CA) screenings to protect NASA missions Perform additional screenings as needed for conjunctions that are considered by NASA to be high risk, and which may require execution of risk mitigation activities. Perform automatic and manual differential correction (DC) of satellite state vectors using observations from sensors in the Space Surveillance Network (SSN) Perform updates to orbital parameters and settings on HAC objects Perform conjunction assessment analysis Verify, maintain, and fulfill approved Orbital Data Requests (ODRs) specific to the NASA process, perform analysis, request increased sensor tasking, document/post results Troubleshoot and report discrepancies as required May be required to communicate directly with CSpOC and/or 18 SPCS personnel using existing or modified procedures. Participate in planning and execution of improvements to operational procedures and other processes used to support customers and to perform required duties. Participate in, or brief, planning and status meetings as required. Subject to training and AF contractor security requirements
Other:

TS/SCI clearance required.

Supports 20X7 operations. Shift work is expected and OT may be required. This support includes weekend and holiday support.
Some travel may be required.

The position will provide support for financial monitoring and reporting as well as identifying, analyzing and improving Health, Safety and Environmental processes and procedures. Additional Information

(Colorado only*) Minimum full-time salary range between $118,000 - $127,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
