Allegro is looking for a highly motivated Software Functional Safety Engineer where you will be working at the forefront of technical innovation and ensuring our automotive and commercial software engineering teams are complying to our implementation of Safety (ISO 26262), ASPICE and cybersecurity.

The functional safety software process team selects and identifies industry leading tools, infrastructure, and processes to a dynamic development community spread across the globe.
What you'll be doing:
Responsible for software process development, tool selection, usage and product implementation for the corporation.Provide guidance to software product development teams so they can better understand compliance issues and assessment findings.Perform internal Safety process assessments across SW organization on products with embedded software.Provide early feedback to software development teams on assessments to allow them to begin addressing findings as soon as possible Create Safety assessment reports post assessment for SW development teams to document their compliance to implementation of the Safety specification.Drive and provide feedback on Safety compliance status. Provide recommendations for effective and efficient implementation.As needed, coach software teams or create and provide training so that software teams can successfully achieve high Safety ratings.Drive and support engineering activities according to Safety standards during all project phases (concept, product development, product design, development, validation, production).Support internal/external Safety process/product audits.

What we need to see:
10+ years of experience with a BS or MS in an engineering related discipline or equivalent experience.Strong knowledge of and experience in ISO26262 functional safety methodology, standards, software methods, procedures, tools, and customer related processes.Hands-on engineering experience in automotive software.Hands on experience with tools that support safety engineering lifecycle.Track record in successful functional safety assessments is a plus.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience with full SW lifecycle for at least 3 projects.Experience with ASPICE or similar SW process.Minimum of 2+ years of experience performing functional safety assessments.

ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY ENGINEER, Facilities-Campus Services and Maintenance, to support the 700+ employees that serve a large and complex campus environment (134 buildings, 11 million square feet). Will work under the direction of the EHS manager and oversee day-to-day activities within the department; provide guidance as necessary; stop and correct unsafe work practices; monitor compliance with environment, health and safety laws and regulations and MIT practices; support safety programs, including confined space, lock out tag out, fall protection, hazard communication, job hazard analysis, and electrical safety; work closely with the EHS manager, MIT Facilities' personnel, and designated members of MIT's EHS Department to assure that EHS requirements are satisfied.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in safety engineering, industrial safety, industrial hygiene, or related professional discipline; four years' experience in a safety-related role in an industry-related business; strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, investigatory, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; ability to work effectively as a team leader and a record of building consensus among internal and external parties; ability to prepare thorough reports and offer corrective actionable items; and strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHS industry software. PREFERRED: lock-out/tag-out experience in an industrial setting; professional certification (i.e., CSP, ASP, OHST, CUSA, CIH) or a master's degree in a related field; knowledge of SAP. Job #20898-9

Working conditions include working on feet, ascending stairs and ladders, and routine lifting. Protective equipment (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) must be worn in the performance of many duties. Must be able to work extended working hours and varied shifts, including possible weekend work as required by workload or emergencies. 3/4/22

Responsibilities
• Perform all functions of the job with the highest level of compliance and integrity
• Assist in driving a culture of HS ownership throughout all facilities
• Develop & Implement HS programs for respective facility as directed
• Lead and conduct HS audits and inspections:
-Physical conditions safety inspections
-Program audits
-Compliance & Permit audits
-Machine guarding
-LOTO
-Confined space entry
• Develop Safety Programs, training initiative and conduct training as directed by the organization
• Conduct/schedule IH sampling as required
• Identify and support the implementation of ergonomic solutions, ergonomics training and ergonomic communications
• Lead regulatory inspections and investigations as required and develop/track any corrective actions to closure
• Support Facility with incident investigations, corrective action plans and share best practices through network wide communication.
Qualifications
A successful candidate should have the following professional skills to ensure success:

• B.S. Degree in the field of Occupational Safety and Health Engineering or equivalent field
• 1 - 3 years' experience preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of OSHA, NFPA and ANSI Standards
• Excellent communication skills (written, interpersonal, and intrapersonal)
• Strong problem solving skills
• Successful experience in teaching and mentoring others. OSHA 501/511 certification preferred.
• Strong manufacturing industry knowledge is a plus
• Travel will be approximately 10%
