Exercises independent judgement with respect to disciplinary actions for safety violations and implementing procedures to correct similar future violations. Consults with manager on decisions that significantly impact the company.
What you'll need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline preferred.
7-10 years' experience in related field, including employee training experience.
Experience in safety management in the semi-conductor industry strongly preferred
Certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred.

High Level Project Overview:
This role works as a resource that can provide ad hoc safety support to various Project Construction (PC) Renewable Projects, as assigned by PC Safety and Renewables leadership, in a team environment to help solar renewables reach its safety goals. This role provides supplementary safety support to the site safety team during peak construction activities as well as acts in a capacity to provide added support to projects where EPC safety performance is not meeting Project Construction expectations. This position reports to the Manager of Safety but is matrixed to the site teams as deemed appropriate by the Manager of Safety or by safety conditions at a location. Position will require within the VA/NC/OH footprint up to 75% of the time, depending on need.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Sets the standard so that the renewables team and contractors working with Project Construction Renewables sees safety as an imperative which cannot be sacrificed
• Monitor safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short- and long-term strategic safety planning and development
• Interfaces in the field with field craft and supervision communicate, coach and assist the staff to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met
• Ensure safety obligations of client are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicated to the Site Asset Manager/Renewables Leadership/Power Generation Safety
• Regularly audit Contractor & client HSE Management Plan for compliance to ensure the alignment with project scope and conditions
• Make notification to project staff of any contractor incidents in a timely manner
• Identify best practices and continuous improvement initiatives and make these recommendations to the General Contractor to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
• Become familiar with General Contractor and subcontractors rules and make sure our client team is familiar with these requirements
• Receive reports from Contractor and disperse to management
• Attend staff meetings, conference calls and report out on safety incidents, trends, and contractor safety performance.
• Assist in addressing operations concerns and design issues by creating punch list items during start-up/commissioning
• Meet with contractor safety staff to discuss safety deficiencies, findings, incidents
• When needed participate in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions
• Ensure safety obligations of the Company are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicated to the Project Manager
• Take part in bi-weekly project safety calls to discuss project parameters and review any incidents that have occurred
• Perform other safety related duties as assigned by site safety coordinator.
Field Duties:
• Ensure Employees & contractors comply with all OSHA regulation, all other state/federal regulations, and client Energy Safety Terms and Conditions (Solar and Battery Energy Storage).
• Perform daily safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
o For Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health items -stop the activity immediately and call the contractors safety team to take care of the issue in the manner prescribed contractually
o For other compliance issues prioritize - get the contractors safety team and have them correct the issue. If the issue cannot be rectified immediately have the contractor's safety team set a date to have the non-compliance item rectified and who is responsible for abating the issue. If that issue isn't corrected in the prescribed time elevate the issue to the Project Manager
• Attend Pre-Job Briefs (employee and contractor) to audit for quality as needed
• Provide support to the project by maintaining a visible presence to the field performing site visits to the entire project
• Maintain professional relationship with Project Construction Renewables & contractor safety team
• Serve as a mentor with Contractor safety professionals while in the field
• Perform site walks with Renewable asset managers & contractor safety professionals to build relationships and identify hazards
• Ensure contractors follow client zero tolerance safety expectations
• Spend time in the field interacting with field personnel and coaching on safety concerns or call contractor safety personnel depending upon the issue
Mandatory Qualifications (Applicants must meet a minimum of one of the following):
1. A Bachelor's in Safety or a closely related field with a minimum of 5 years of large project experience in a construction safety environment.
2. A current OSHA 500 training course designation and five years of experience as the lead safety professional.

The NDT Inspector will be responsible for performing Magnetic Particle (MT) inspections on structural welds in a shop environment.
The role involves climbing, crawling, and performing minor grinding for relevance checks during inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct VT, MT and PT inspections on structural welds according to established procedures.
Climb vertical ladders, crawl in tanks and confined spaces, and perform inspections at heights.
Perform minor grinding as needed for relevance checks.
Use and maintain NDT equipment, record and analyze inspection data.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The work zone safety inspector is responsible for monitoring and enforcement of safety work zones as set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and RoadTek Employee Safety Practices and Procedures Handbook (RESPPH) which adds additional safety protocol to the American Traffic Safety Service Association (ATSSA).
The position travels to selected work zones to ensure proper PENNDOT conditions are met in accordance with ATSSA and RoadTek Traffic Solutions safety policies. The position oversees the work zone employees to ensure all work zones and safety policies are sheared to at each job site.
Duties & Responsibilites:
Inspect and relay data and information to State Safety Inspector Manager and Upper Level Management, regarding the detection of safety violations; including but not limited to work zone set-up and safety violations including but not limited to proper safety gear and/or behaviors.
Provide work zone inspections of each job listed on the branch schedule to ensure compliance with RESPPH and ATSSA policy.
Maintain accurate, legible, and concise records and logs including but not limited to daily/hourly work details, inspection of property damage.
Inspect and make corrections to work zones to ensure the movement of vehicular traffic around work zones is safe.
Transmit correction of crew chiefs and RoadTeks (crew members) in compliance with ATSSA and RESPPH policy and procedure including dissemination of PENNDOT pocket guide.
Ensure all crew chief and RoadTeks are wearing displaying and proper safety gear (PPE) is being used on the job.
Ensure all licensed RoadTek drivers are displaying proper color-coded lanyards displaying credentials and drivers license
Ensure all disciplinary write-ups are transmitted to State Safety Inspector Manager, Safety Director, State Manager, Branch Manager, and Human Resources on a daily basis.
Ensure there are no unauthorized persons and/or vehicles and loitering in or around work zones.
Serve as the liaison between safety department and work zone crew to report and ensure ATSSA and RESPPH is being followed.
Issue disciplinary documentation to any employee not following company safety policy including but not limited to the disregard of work zone setups.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein including but not limited to serving as a crew chief, roadtek, road control crew member, or any other duties involved with sending crews to the field, and/or replacing crew members.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervises all work zone employees.
Work Environment:
Job is performed while traveling in a company provided vehicle around the state to inspect work zones.
