The EHS manager provides leadership and strategic direction to achieve excellence in Environmental, Health, safety, and security (EHSS) performance. He or she ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local EHS regulations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate all key EHSS programs at the site and ensure plant and applicable regional objectives are met.
Influential leader of the site by promoting a strong safety culture supporting the goal of an injury-free workplace where employees take responsibility for their safety as well as that of others
Prepare and submit all regulatory reports as required by the permit and regulations.
Implement site audit program to promote frequent inspections by site management team to ensure compliance with housekeeping, safe work permitting, energy control (LOTO), job safety analysis, spill prevention, and other EHSS items.
Provide training on EHSS issues, maintain records, determine and obtain appropriate materials ensures plant uses training platforms
Ensure EHSS events are appropriately logged, recorded, and reported on EHS platform. Provide follow-up for EHSS events to ensure that corrective actions are completed and are not reoccurring. Maintains EHSS reporting platform for site
Review and maintain site EHSS documents and ensure that they are complete and follow federal regulations and corporate policies
Provide Incident investigation assistance for all accidents, and near misses. Ensure that the incident is appropriately recorded and reported to internal and external entities. Ensure that all corrective actions are completed and that the issue doesn't recur.
Conduct plant inspections, and housekeeping events and measures are being performed to help keep the site in compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, industrial safety, environmental science, or related technical field required.
At least five years of exempt-level environmental health and safety experience in an industrial setting is required. Safety Knowledge on Hydrogen and Acetylene Systems preferred.
Solid knowledge of OSHA standards (Safe Work Permits, Energy Control, Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, and process safety management etc.), root cause analysis and incident investigation.
General understanding of Texas, US and Harris County environmental regulations, continuous emissions monitoring systems, spill prevention control and counter measure, storm water pollution prevention, waste management, wastewater, and air compliance programs required.
Excellent communication, organization, management, and leadership skills

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Safety Manager administers project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. They may be responsible for one project or multiple small projects. This role would report to a Senior Safety Manager or Regional Safety Director and potentially manage Safety Coordinators and Field Safety Specialists. This subject matter expert will have significant autonomy contributing technical support to make safety-related decisions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Lead daily audits of all work areas. Provide safety expertise in response to identified deficiencies and requests for safety assistance. Communication with the project team and field leadership is essential.
Prepare professional reports, conduct safety briefings, act as company spokesperson for site safety issues, research, and answer site safety questions and concerns.
Resolve site safety issues and provide emergency response as needed that arises from sub-contractors, customers, employees, and company managers.
Identify gaps and implement safety program elements, as needed, to comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Direct comprehensive, in-depth investigations of all injury and loss incidents, identify all causal factors, develop and implement measures to prevent recurrences, and follow up to ensure long-term resolution.
Conduct safety training, testing, and record-keeping for all employees, sub-contractors, and where Rosendin is prime, all other persons arriving on site (New Hire Orientation, Equipment Training, Haz Com, Fall Protection, Excavation, Confined Space, Lockout/Tag out, Crane and Rigging, etc.).
Act as an advisor to the company management team and customer agencies to ensure safety requirements are identified, communicated to employees, and fulfilled.
Manage the assigned project's safety program budget, planning, acquiring, controlling, and distributing all safety equipment, supplies, and training aids.
Develop and review the site safety plan for the project.
Contribute to project start-up meetings.
Review of the three-week look ahead for the project.
Ensure a crisis management plan is implemented for projects and facilities.
Ensure clinics/medical facilities are set up, and the project team knows their location.
Ensure procedures are followed for LOTO and first-time energization at the project site.
Review Step by Step and MOPS (Method of Procedures).
Develop and participate in RCAs (root cause analysis) to prevent reoccurring events at projects.
Identify needs and compose training documents, pre-task plans, permits, training certifications, sign-in sheets, and toolbox meetings to the appropriate database or filing system.
Responsible for injury case management; coordination with insurance representatives and vendors as assigned by senior safety leadership.

This individual will be an integral member of the on-site Safety Department, providing essential support throughout the lifecycle of a hyper-scaled data center construction project. The Safety Manager has the responsibility of protecting the company and its employees in all health and safety issues. The Safety Manager directs the organization's safety program to protect employees and the company against harm and maintain safe working conditions. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that requires both field and office collaboration with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
+ Keep up to date with local, state, and federal requirements for health and safety, ADA, Workers' Compensation, etc.
+ Develop safety plans, policies, and procedures for company and projects.
+ Ensure that company and personnel are working within the current local, state and federal requirements for safety.
+ Continuously promote a safety conscious work environment and promote the company and its health and safety program.
+ Train employees in all areas of safety as guided by the Safety Training Matrix and maintain training records of all employees.
+ Work closely with the Director of Safety, Project Managers, and foremen to ensure safe projects and to protect the interest of the company and its employees.
+ Perform documented job site safety inspections of all projects.
+ Work with Safety Counseling, Inc. to ensure job sites are inspected on a regular basis and follow up on any issues discovered during inspections that need to be addressed.
+ Organize and coordinate safety meetings.
+ Investigate all accidents and incidents regarding safety.
+ Organize and maintain a company safety committee; leads all safety committee functions, facilitates all safety committee meetings.
+ Assist the purchasing department in obtaining the correct safety equipment and supplies.
+ Work to resolve safety issues before they become major problems.
+ Maintain statistical safety data and information.
+ Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, plants, manufacturing facilities, or other structures.
+ Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings and models.
+ Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective local, state and company operations for the protection of people, data, property and institutions.

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Safety Manager administers project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. They may be responsible for one project or multiple small projects. This role would report to a Senior Safety Manager or Regional Safety Director and potentially manage Safety Coordinators and Field Safety Specialists. This subject matter expert will have significant autonomy contributing technical support to make safety-related decisions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Lead daily audits of all work areas. Provide safety expertise in response to identified deficiencies and requests for safety assistance. Communication with the project team and field leadership is essential.
Prepare professional reports, conduct safety briefings, act as company spokesperson for site safety issues, research, and answer site safety questions and concerns.
Resolve site safety issues and provide emergency response as needed that arises from sub-contractors, customers, employees, and company managers.
Identify gaps and implement safety program elements, as needed, to comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Direct comprehensive, in-depth investigations of all injury and loss incidents, identify all causal factors, develop and implement measures to prevent recurrences, and follow up to ensure long-term resolution.
Conduct safety training, testing, and record-keeping for all employees, sub-contractors, and where Rosendin is prime, all other persons arriving on site (New Hire Orientation, Equipment Training, Haz Com, Fall Protection, Excavation, Confined Space, Lockout/Tag out, Crane and Rigging, etc.).
Act as an advisor to the company management team and customer agencies to ensure safety requirements are identified, communicated to employees, and fulfilled.
Manage the assigned project's safety program budget, planning, acquiring, controlling, and distributing all safety equipment, supplies, and training aids.
Develop and review the site safety plan for the project.
Contribute to project start-up meetings.
Review of the three-week look ahead for the project.
Ensure a crisis management plan is implemented for projects and facilities.
Ensure clinics/medical facilities are set up, and the project team knows their location.
Ensure procedures are followed for LOTO and first-time energization at the project site.
Review Step by Step and MOPS (Method of Procedures).
Develop and participate in RCAs (root cause analysis) to prevent reoccurring events at projects.
Identify needs and compose training documents, pre-task plans, permits, training certifications, sign-in sheets, and toolbox meetings to the appropriate database or filing system.
Responsible for injury case management; coordination with insurance representatives and vendors as assigned by senior safety leadership.
