The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing all environmental, health, and safety programs at the Carlisle Architectural Metals manufacturing facility in Arden, NC. This role partners closely with site leadership, business unit directors, Regional Safety Specialists, and the Sr. Manager, EHS to proactively prevent injuries and health impairments, ensure regulatory compliance, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Standard working hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Communicate regularly with CAM Regional Safety Specialists and site operations leadership.
* Serve as the primary EHS advisor to site leadership, supervisors, safety committees, and hourly associates.
* Support the Plant Manager with site-level strategic planning, including analysis of leading and lagging safety indicators and problem-solving initiatives.
* Act as a behavior-based safety (BBS) coach and mentor, promoting safety tools, concepts, and a proactive safety mindset.
* Implement, maintain, and continuously improve site safety plans, EHS standard work, and Carlisle safety programs.
* Conduct safety standard work assessments, PPE assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and policy audits.
* Plan, manage, and execute targeted environmental, health, and safety projects throughout the facility.
* Review and update safety policies and procedures to align with company objectives and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
* Develop and deliver safety training, onboarding, mentoring programs, and BBS observations.
* Review safety-related documentation, including safety committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift checklists, accident investigations, and near-miss reports.
* Lead, track, and review site-level incident investigations to identify root causes, trends, and ensure corrective action completion.
* Maintain OSHA 300 logs; track OSHA recordable incidents, rates, and trends.
* Report safety performance metrics regularly to Divisional EHS Leadership.
* Serve as the site liaison with regulatory agencies in accordance with company policy and statutory requirements.
* Chair the site safety committee and participate in required management meetings.
* Maintain accurate records of employee training, workplace inspections, and corrective actions.
* Submit required EHS documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping.
* Conduct and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual safety inspections.
* Oversee hazardous material management and inspections of hazardous material storage areas.
* Manage EHS tasks using the EHS digital platform (Gensuite).
* Manage and support EHS ISO programs, including ISO 14001.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensure OSHA and company safety standards are being met on our job sites.
* Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
* Coach employees regarding PPE, tool safety, and safe working practices.
* Conduct safety related instruction during new hire orientation.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and prepare detailed reports.
* Prepare monthly reports for site accidents, motor vehicle accidents, site work hours, and mileage.
* Plan and host safety meetings and assist the General Manager for the annual Safety Day.
* Stay updated on the latest safety laws and industry best practices to ensure our safety programs are current and effective.

Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience of construction safety experience. OR
* Minimum of 3 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in construction management or occupational health.
* OSHA 510 or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Job Summary
The Safety Managermanages Goodwill's Safety and Health program with the overall goal of ensuring comprehensive safety training, policies and procedures, and tracking metrics are in place to minimize the frequency and severity of workplace accidents and injuries while maintaining corporate compliance for training and tracking metrics. The Safety Manager will work closely with the LP Manager as they conduct scheduled site visits to review standards and facility conditions while auditing staff training, site safety conditions, and safety metrics. The Safety Manager works with the internal compliance team and with all departments on the development, review, and implementation of safety programs and oversees all aspects of workplace safety to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations on the federal and state level. They will also organize and lead corporate training programs related to compliance and safety utilizing virtual and in-person training methods to publish to all employees.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversees and conducts site visits throughout three regions.
Oversees and manages safety walks and OSHA reviews throughout stores, trains retail staff with the monthly safety topic and inspects building for safety violations.
Conducts loss prevention checks and walkthroughs (i.e. cash drawer checks) and case studies to determine what items are typically stolen from the stores.
Reviews safety training for new hires.
Reviews OSHA 300 logs and manages any workplace issues which have been sited at Goodwill.
Creates, revises, and curates all corporate safety training documents and manages monthly safety training to all site staff, annual required safety training, and safety training for new employee on-boarding.
Partners with Corporate Compliance Manager to maintain all health and safety program documentation and to ensure site compliance throughout the company, determining and implementing appropriate action as necessary to maintain corporate compliance and CARF accreditation in the area of safety/health.
Recommends corrective action that mitigates risks by analyzing trends from data found on recordable incident forms, near miss reports, injury forms and safety inspections.
Serves as the direct liaison to executive safety team for bi-annual safety updates to include any required critical situation updates.
Partners with Executive Safety Committee, Compliance Manager, and Senior Leadership Team to set safety policy and procedures.
Reviews worker compensation cases and assists People team with any investigation needs.
Reviews and stores any related security video and provides to insurance or internal teams as needed.

Education:
Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree in business related field or Safety Management, preferred.
Requirements:
Certified First Aid/ CPR trainer, preferred.
Minimum 3 years' experience in safety management.
30-hour OSHA certification preferred.
CPR certifications and/or first aid skills preferred.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
Ability to develop safety training materials.
Ability to de-escalate situation and manage conflict.
Basic computer skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Must possess strong organizational skills and give attention to detail.
Must have strong presentation skills at all organizational levels.
Must have familiarity and experience recommending appropriate corrective actions as a result of safety violations.

Job Summary

Reviews safety training for new hires.

Creates, revises, and curates all corporate safety training documents and manages monthly safety training to all site staff, annual required safety training, and safety training for new employee on-boarding.

Additionally, this role will maintain site certifications, ensure accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics and closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings, manage intermediate communication with public/government authorities. You will direct actions during crises, facilitates risk assessment at site based on advance knowledge of regulatory requirements, and work with xthe leadership team and MESH element champions to complete annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, local regulations.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
**What you'll do:**
+ Manage the Environmental, Health and Safety program for the Avery Creek facility.
+ Manage the loss control program and direct the activities of contracted security and healthcare personnel.
+ Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all site facility infrastructure both for manufacturing and office operations.
+ Oversees and coordinates all facilities work throughout the building including the management of capital and expense spend.
+ Responsible for managing and executing contractor management program for third party contractors performing work on site.
+ Partner with Human Resources and onsite healthcare personnel for proper case management and employee support.
+ Maintain the facility in compliance with all regulatory needs (EPA, OSHA, etc.).
+ Administer the Safety and Environmental program according to guidelines set forth by Corporate.
+ Policy and management objectives including administration of Eaton's MESH program.
+ Ensure a safe and healthful workplace for employees.
+ Maintain a strong and viable Safety Council program.
+ Provide mandatory and/or other necessary Safety and Environmental training to employees.
+ Prepare and submit Environmental Permits and reports and comply with other OSHA and EPA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
+ Other duties, projects, as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
**Basic (required) Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
+ Five (5) years of experience working in environmental health and safety for manufacturing organization.
+ One (1) year of experience leading project teams and/or people.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Proven ability to lead strategic planning initiatives
+ Proficiency in Federal and state laws and OSHA and EPA regulations.
+ Knowledge of Worker's Compensation
**Skills:**
+ Comfortability with public speaking and the ability to provide training to small and large groups.
+ Ability to work with and lead individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.
