Position Overview
The Safety Manager oversees the Safety Department, which includes, but is not limited to: Driver screening and training requirements, training provider registry, accident and incident prevention and reporting requirements, FMSCA/FTA drug and alcohol testing and reporting requirements.
The Safety Manager's primary responsibilities will include facilitating new hire operator training; refresher training; recommending, developing, and implementing safety and training programs; internal and external customer complaints, and responding to unpredictable crises. + Is the central point of information and data for safety and training activity at the location, including maintaining data on trainees, licenses, drug and alcohol program (DER), and other training activity (i.e., OSHA), as well as safety data and trends.
+ Maintains driver and other safety-sensitive employee qualifications files.

Position Requirements

Job Description
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety protocols and procedures across the portfolio of single-family rental properties and Tricon's vehicle fleet. The goal of the Safety Manager is to ensure the safety of all employees, residents, and contractors by minimizing risks, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.
Create, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with industry standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits at rental properties to identify risks and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Prepare detailed reports, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors. Ensure all personnel are educated on safety practices, protocols, and emergency procedures.
Ensure the company adheres to all safety regulations and codes, including OSHA requirements, fire codes, and local building codes.
Design and maintain emergency preparedness plans, including fire evacuation procedures, natural disaster protocols, and first-aid response.
Oversee contractor safety programs and verify compliance with company safety policies before the initiation of projects. Conduct pre- and post-worksite inspections as needed.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports. Regularly report safety metrics and progress to senior management.
Foster a proactive safety culture across the organization by promoting awareness, accountability, and open communication regarding safety practices and issues.
Ensure all safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits) is regularly inspected and in proper working condition.
Work closely with insurance providers and legal teams to manage claims related to property or employee safety incidents.
Qualifications:
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, responds well to questions, demonstrates strong group presentation skills
Writes clearly and informatively and presents numerical data in an easy to digest format
Knowledge of Yardi and Real Estate industry / terminology is a significant plus
Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and Jaspersoft is a plus
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and highly analytical
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, fire safety codes, and general building safety standards. Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Proficiency with vendor management software and tools
A problem-solving mindset with strong analytical capabilities
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
At least 3 years of experience in a safety management role, ideally in property management, construction, or real estate.
Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification for the Construction Industry is required; CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar certification is a plus.

As a Safety Engineer, you will ensure the safety of employees, trade partners, and the general public on our world class projects. The Safety Engineer is responsible for creating a culture of care while enforcing Clark's Safety and Health Policy, as well as, local and federal safety standards on jobsites. This role participates in the safety education in partnership with project supervisors to develop safe work plans for all phases and tasks. To us, no project is successful unless it is built safely.
**Responsibilities**
+ Drive the Clark safety culture on a project
+ Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, trade partners, and general public
+ Enforce corporate and project specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards
+ Lead the review of specialized safety plans (i.e. crane, confined space, Job Action Analysis, etc.)
+ Partner with subcontractors to ensure all documentation is submitted timely
+ Identify known or potential exposures and recommend corrective action
+ Understand your project's schedule and relevant Contract Documents
+ Develop, coordinate, and implement overall project specific safety programs
+ Partner with field supervision to ensure safety hazard mitigation measures are included in the planning ofproject construction activities
+ Develop project specific safety education for jobsite personnel, including subcontractors, based uponupcoming work activities or recent at-risk trends
+ Drive and create a safety vision and aligns the team to deliver and achieve a safe workplace for everyone
+ Facilitate third party safety reviews including OSHA
+ Cultivate a network of industry relationships to bring potential business opportunities to Clark leadership
+ Cultivate industry relationships to help attract and recruit top talent to Clark. A mindset of "All team members are recruiters"

**Basic Qualifications**
+ 2+ years of relevant construction safety experience with an undergraduate degree in safety and health (or related discipline) or demonstrated construction safety and trade experience

+ Proof of training and experience in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safely
+ Strength in managing multiple competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
