We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Quality Control Manager to join our team on our Ferguson Project located in El Portal near Yosemite National Park.
Myers and Sons received a contract to restore full highway access to State Route 140 on the existing alignment that has been blocked by a rockslide that occurred in 2006. The project will consist of building the Rockshed structure, which will be a reinforced concrete box structure supported on concrete piles and anchored to tie backs into the canyon wall.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Safety and Health Program that meets or exceeds corporate minimum requirements.
- Create, communicate, and identify opportunities for improvements in Corporate Safety Program.
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate all Subcontractors Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings acting as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal (OSHA) and state as well as local safety and health regulations.
- Maintain all administrative tasks related to project specific safety documentation/recordkeeping system, including OSHA reports, management reports, training, etc.
- Conduct regularly scheduled site evaluations, follow up and tracking of corrections to deficiencies
- Attend superintendent meetings and monitor Toolbox Talks/Discussions to ensure documentation and quality
- Perform root cause and accident investigation techniques in the event of a job site accident - including collection of safety and health standard incident reporting forms and documentation working closely with local and Risk Management
- Ability to conduct in-house training on various health and safety related topics.
- Assist with OSHA inspections, compliance reviews, insurance provider reviews/audits, and other federal, state, or local agency reviews/inquiries.
Qualifications:
4-year college degree
5 years+ of experience in heavy construction safety
Cal/OSHA 30-hour construction training course
Certified as a Safety Professional or Construction Health and Safety Technician
Traffic control supervision certification
Knowledge in safety procedures for all types of work being performed on Ferguson Slide Project
Knowledge of Caltrans specifications and plans, Cal/OSHA policy and procedures, and California Code of Regulations Title 8 safety requirements

JOB SUMMARY:
The Health Manager is responsible for the for the overall operation of the medical and dental health services as outlined in Head Start Performance Standards/Act and Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Participate and assist in the development of comprehensive program plans and grant applications including program, on-going, monitoring, program self-assessment, and Program Information Report.
* Provide health related trainings in accordance to Community Care Licensing and Head Start Performance standards during pre-service and as requested.
* Develop a comprehensive Health Service Area Plan with yearly updates, including but not limited to providing families with necessary resources and skills to access an ongoing health care system in order to ensure continued comprehensive health and nutrition care services for the child after leaving the program
* Know current pediatric periodicity schedules (EPSDT), dental periodicity schedules, and immunization recommendations and requirements, and understand screening, assessment, and examination results, and immunization recommendations and requirements, and understand screening, assessment, and examination results
* Prepares annual Immunization Program and Program Information Report as required for Head Start, State or local/agency regulations.
* Be aware that maternal and family health and wellness beginning with preconception influence health across the lifespan

* Be aware of changes in health care delivery systems (e.g., eligibility, provider participation, covered services)

The Safety Inspector for Wilson is responsible for ensuring work site compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local safety regulations as well as all elements of the Wilson safety program. The Safety Inspector reports to and coordinates their work activities with the Director of Safety and is responsible for performing the following essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as needed:
• Attend morning tailboard meetings and be prepared to cover daily safety topics. Discuss job site, incidents near misses and good catches.
• Set a good example by following good safety practices in all activities-particularly with respect to personal protective equipment and clothing.
• Perform a minimum of one safety audit per crew using the iAuditor app. Audits shall include a thorough survey of site conditions, and analysis of potential hazards being encountered, and a determination of the kind and extent of safeguards necessary to accomplish the work in a safe manner and/or as appropriate.
• Implement immediate corrective action whenever noncompliance with the safety program or Federal, State or local laws or regulations is found.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and use of HPI principles and the safety performance of field employees and provide guidance and training where needed to improve performance and safety.
• Review audit results with General Foremen and foremen and on a periodic basis review accident, near-misses, disciplinary actions taken, and safety suggestions offered from the field.
• Conduct safety orientations and training for new employees and former employees returning to the Company after an extended absence.
• Coordinate new hire drug testing.
• Administer the fall protection program and fit testing where applicable.
• Administer employee-training.
• Ensure that employee's operating Wilson equipment have the required certificates.
• Review Wilson's truck/equipment safety inspection reports ( Zonar, DVIR's).
• Investigate all incidents and near miss reports and file reports as required.
• Make available all necessary personal protective equipment, job safety materials, first aid supplies, and emergency information.
• Meet with Wilson management on periodic basis to discuss accidents and accident trends, employee safety performance, safety suggestions from the field, ways and means of improving the effectiveness of the safety program, and the scheduled training programs.
Safety Inspector Requirements:
• A minimum of five years' experience supporting or leading safety programs.
• A minimum of three years' experience in the industry they are responsible for overseeing. This experience must be in the high voltage electrical transmission and distribution trade.
• Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) with a background in Electric transmission and Distribution utility services.
• Working knowledge of state and federal OSHA laws and regulations.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Must be able to work outside and travel.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff and personality types.
• Desire and ability to learn the technical aspects of our industry.
• May be expected to walk and maneuver difficult terrain on job sites.
• Must have a valid CDL & Medical Card.

* Partner with site teams to implement company EHS programs; engaging and involving all workers to understand and employ safety, environmental and security policies, and programs.
* Provide counsel and floor support to site teams for safety, health and environmental questions, concerns, identification, and control of hazards, recommending best/better practices.
* Leads the development of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying, evaluating, and reducing hazards.
* Partner with the Corporate Director of EHS on the prioritization or reduction of TF1 and TF2 incidents through appropriate education, training and rigorous safety measures.
* Lead and manage the incident management and near miss program, investigating incidents, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
* Facilitate the safety committee team, providing guidance, overseeing safety inspections, meetings and task list follow-up.
* Responsible for the administration of the workers compensation program at the plant. Ensures completion of First Reports of Injury and other records, maintains contact with workers' compensation carrier and ensures reports are submitted timely. Proactively conducts ergonomic assessments and makes recommendation to reduce risk. Collaborates with HR on accommodations and return to work programs.
* Involved in chemical and hazardous materials management programs (i.e., Process Safety Management, Ammonia Refrigeration Management Program, etc.). Ensures Safety Data Sheets are
* Lead environmental programs established within the organization to include recycling of all office wastes in accordance with program guidelines, initiate power conservation techniques by turning off lights and computers when not in use.
* Partners with the Corporate Director of EHS to implement the environmental control strategies at the plant (Wastewater Treatment, Particles Emission and Filtration, Dust Hazard Control, Ammonia Systems Controls, Process Safety management. Serves as primary point of contact for all Local, State and Federal EH&S related inquiries.
* Partners with the Corporate EHS Director and legal teams during all environmental investigations involving government agencies (EPA, DEC, OSHA, etc.). Maintain, monitor and report on all EHS performance metrics.
* Create, audit and implement necessary programs and projects across the site in support of permitting & compliance (i.e., OSHA, EPA, site/occupancy planning, chemical storage, noise surveying, air quality, wastewater discharge, SPCC, etc.).
* Owns and manages the plant safety audit program, ensuring audits are performed as scheduled and data is captured, monitored and used to drive improvements.
* Partner with the Corporate Director of EHS to develop, implement and maintain all EHS written programs/policies/procedures (such as LOTO, Confined Space Entry, etc.) Ensure all policies and procedures are fully deployed and maintained within the plant.
* Responsible for EHS reporting which includes performance against targets and goals, regulatory reporting, corporate and customer required reporting. Share trends and suggestions with the plant leadership team to proactively correct and improve EHS performance when targets are not met.
* Collaborate with site teams and HR on annual training plans and required EHS training. Ensure training records are maintained and in accordance with Company procedures.
* Manage, train and develop EHS team members through mentoring, coaching and coordination of individual development plans. Provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis. Partner with HR on
* employee relations issues.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Maintains thorough working knowledge of S&S Activewear policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and company safety guidelines to ensure injuries are prevented and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
* Maintain and analyze safety data for trends, deficiencies, or improvements and formulate a plan to address and communicate with leadership.

DESCRIPTION:
Tutor Perini Corporation is looking for a Lead Safety Manager to manage the Health and Safety of the CAHSR project. The Lead Safety Manager will monitor and enforce the individual Health and Safety plans of each project in conjunction with the site safety managers to ensure that the following requirements are fulfilled for each project:
Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to: training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues. This position reports to the Project Executive, Operations Manager or other assigned supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintains a SAFE jobsite, monitors safety and takes appropriate action to correct any safety issues or deficiencies.
* Oversees and manages on-site Safety Staff, which includes, Safety Coordinators, Safety Apprentices and Safety Administrative Assistants on multiple shifts.
* Purchases Safety equipment.
* Responsible for site specific safety assignments and multi-shift coverage.
* Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
* Monitors activities at construction sites. Inspects construction site daily.
* Assists Project Manager and/or Superintendents with the development and monitoring of the job specific safety plans.
* Review accident procedure.
* Prepares and reviews the minutes of safety meetings.
* Maintain MSDS and Hazardous Communication Program.
* Completes incident reports and distributes and maintains files.
* Gathers toolbox reports from foreman and subcontractors.
* Receives and monitors safety reports and responds when discrepancies occur in monthly man-hour report and maintains JV OSHA Log 300.
* Monitors all accidents and maintains appropriate paperwork and files pertaining to same. Gathers Monthly Safety Hours from subcontractors for the monthly Report and forwards to Safety Director.
* Maintains and conducts Safety audits.
* Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and contact with field supervisory personnel.
* Supervise and conduct safety and first aid training of staff at the project sites.
* Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities. Manage investigations with employees, subcontractor personnel and CCIP carrier for each accident occurrence or violation.
* Review daily, weekly, and monthly field documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
* Accompany all safety, health, and insurance inspectors on walk through tours.
* Prepare written appeals for safety violation citations.
* Additional assignments on supervisor's request.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Requires at least 10 years of heavy civil construction experience.
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
* Familiarity with occupational safety and health laws and regulations.
* Current certification in first aid and CPR by the American Red Cross or its equivalent.
* College Degree highly preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 software.
* The Cal OSHA certifications may be earned within 6 months of hire date.
