Safety Specialists work closely with field staff, clients and subcontractors, all levels of management, and personnel from external organizations during all phases of electric construction projects. Safety Specialists must be committed to ensuring adherence to safety-related policies, procedures, and regulations while developing positive professional relationships. This is a location-based position encompassing worksites throughout the assigned project area and requires varying amounts of travel.
***This position will travel throughout the state of Colorado daily, with occasional travel to areas like Salida, Alamosa, and Grand Junction . Safety Specialists are provided a company vehicle, gas card, and purchase card***
Experience with electrical construction, transmission and distribution specifically, is a big plus.

Essential Functions
Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions to ensure a safety focus throughout all phases of electric construction projects
Coordinate with Operations teams to create site-specific safety plans; actively participate in safety meetings to review job hazard analysis and hazard recognition tools
Participate in project kick off and progress meetings
Supporting client-specific safety requirements programs and ensure alignment and compliance between client expectations, company rules, and applicable safety regulations
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safety
Coach and mentor project site personnel regarding safety practices and behaviors on an ongoing basis
Conduct proactive behavior-based and quality-focused field safety observations and PPE hazard assessments
Partner with Safety, Safety Training & Operations teams to schedule or facilitate required employee trainings: New hire orientation, OSHA ETD Quarterly refresher training, Customer required training, Post-incident training as part of a Corrective Action Plan, and Participate in site-specific safety planning.
Conduct accident/injury investigations including root cause analyses
Provide support to Operations organization for incident case management and documentation steps
Follow-up with Operations organization to ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents and incidents
Support company safety committees by assisting in assessment of safety performance trends, implementing process, and tool improvements

**Job Summary**
The Safety Manager is responsible for acting as the Safety Management professional conducting safety inspections, observations, investigations, safety training, and regulatory compliance for OSHA, DOT, and EPA. The Safety Manager evaluates and assesses the probability and severity of loss events and accidents which may result from actual or potential hazards.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and support creation of a strategy of safety and compliance strategic goals.
+ Ensure site management has the appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, managers, and supervisors, in order to drive the safety culture, compliance, and results.
+ Supervise, lead, and mentor company-wide safety and compliance support staff.
+ Develop effective safety and compliance programs and policies designed to meet operational goals to reduce injuries and incidents.
+ Communicate safety and compliance strategy and objectives to leadership.
+ Support site management in the implementation of safety and compliance programs or policies.
+ Design and implement effective metrics to track progress, proactively identify areas of concern, and drive accountability.
+ Design and execute a broad program such as electrical safety, air quality, industrial hygiene, driving safety, back injury prevention, heat & cold stress, injury illness prevention, first aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogen plan, flagger, and confined spaces.
+ Coordinate safety drills to transfer knowledge and core competencies to management and employees.
+ Develop and implement audit tracks and identify gaps in local compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures.
+ Lead incident investigation process, including cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans.
+ Provide supervisor and management training on root cause analysis.
+ Assist site management in ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.
+ Monitor, interpret and communicate regulatory changes to management.
+ Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
