POSITION OVERVIEW:
The EHS Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures, along with conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. To provide a safe and healthy atmosphere within the workplace and to comply with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Evaluates hazards within the facility for safety, health, and environmental risks.
· Develop health and safety procedures and programs for all departments and monitors safety

· Maintains contingency plans, including fire prevention, and procedures for controlling hazardous spills
in accordance with government regulation and insurance company requirements.

· Responsible for Government report for BLS, OSHA and Title V.
· Represent employer on regulatory inspections.
· Manage safety and security budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:

The HSO is required to perform the functions described below, as well as any other safety-related directives issued by the designated Health and Safety Manager (HSM) or designee:
* Assist PM Teams to assess the health and safety requirements of a project or jobsite prior to the initiation of any on-site work. This may include reviewing project specifications and/or participation in pre-deployment site walks.
* Assist PM Teams to audit/ensure that all jobsite personnel meet any necessary health and safety requirements prior to the initiation of work. * Assist PM Teams with the development of project budgets by providing health and safety-related cost estimates. The HSO will also assist with tracking the health and safety-related expenditures on assigned projects.
* Work directly with PM Teams to conduct site safety inspections and provide guidance in the development of corrective action plans for deficiencies and/or safety violations.
* Assist PM Teams in defining the boundaries of hazardous exclusion zones, decontamination areas, support zones, and any other functional areas (e.g., first aid and eyewash stations, air sampling locations, break areas, designated smoking areas, evacuation assembly areas, egress/access points, haul routes/traffic control, etc.).
* The HSO will assume a lead role in conducting jobsite air sampling and atmospheric monitoring to ensure employees are not exposed to toxins above permissible exposure limits (PELs) and to determine respiratory protection requirements. Related duties include calibration and set-up of monitoring instruments, download and management of electronic data, and packaging and shipping of sampling media to designated analytical laboratories.
* The HSO will assist the PM Team with response, investigation and reporting of job-related injuries and illnesses. The HSO will assume a lead role in coordinating case management with WorkCareTM and clinic/hospital staff to ensure appropriate evaluation and medical treatment is provided to the involved employee and will assist with documentation for Worker Compensation claims.

What You'll Do
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the site's environmental, health, and safety programs. You will:
* Champion EHS awareness across the facility by modeling safe behaviors and staying informed about the latest in environmental, health, and safety compliance, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
* Develop and implement EHS procedures, policies, and guidelines to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor compliance and identify potential risks.
* Collaborate with employees and management to mitigate hazardous conditions and unsafe practices promptly.
* Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for third parties, including neighboring businesses, local councils, and regulatory bodies.
* Participate in incident investigations, manage Workers' Compensation claims, assist with case management, and help develop and implement corrective actions while ensuring thorough completion of related reports.
* Prepare and present EHS reports as requested.
* Deliver EHS training and participate actively in operational and committee meetings.
* Facilitate emergency evacuation procedures and other safety drills.
* Undertake additional duties as required to support the facility's EHS objectives.
What You Bring
* A minimum of 5 years of relevant EHS experience in a food production, or related industries.
* Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Previous manufacturing experience.
Preferred Requirements
* Occupational Health and Safety Certification.
* ASP/CSP Certification.
* Knowledge of both environmental and safety compliance.
* Experience with PSM and RMP.
