Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures on all underground utility construction sites. Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor company safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Power plant environment. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, chemical suits, fire resistant clothing, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a similar field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or an equivalent institution. Relevant work experience may substitute education on a year-for-year basis.
Advanced level of experience in environmental compliance and safety at an operating facility is desired. This experience will preferably be from a power plant or power-related industry to understand plant operations, seeking opportunities to reduce environmental and safety risks and costs.
General knowledge of power plant operations desired, including the interrelationship of environmental impacts and compliance with operation and maintenance functions.
General knowledge of major environmental legislation involving air, water, hazardous materials, and waste management, with at least one specialized area of knowledge at the regulatory requirement level.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating, implementing, and ensuring compliance with Title V permit requirements issued by regulatory agencies such as the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), and the U.S. EPA.
