The Safety Manager is responsible for the continuous overall coordination and implementation of employee health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and policies, but most importantly, to ensure employee safety for the Tulare, Lost Hills, and Firebaugh facilities. This is done by developing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and assess risk at all levels within the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts regular walkthroughs and inspections of all three facilities; assess any potential safety issues and initiates corrective action.
Trains, tests, and certifies employees requiring a Forklift, Ariel Platform and any other equipment requiring a certification.
Investigates incidents, injuries, and property damage including compiling data, taking photographs, and completing proper documentation.
Compiles data, photographs, etc.; prepares all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local regulations associated with accidents.
Issues various permits (i.e. Hot Work, Confined Space, etc.) as required.
Responsible for employee safety training portion of new hire orientation process.
Maintains all safety related binders and safety training matrix.
Prepares and conducts Quarterly Tailgate Trainings.
Facilitates required Annual, Semi Annual and Quarterly Employee Safety Trainings.
Conducts inventories of safety equipment items and supplies, reorders items as needed.
Issues Employee PPE, Bump Caps, etc.
Issues HID Badges and maintains the HID tracking system.
Works with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.
Assists management in assessing risks throughout various levels of processing.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job.
Follow all company safety protocols.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Certified Trainer for various equipment as required.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Food Defense Certified.
OSHA 30 Certification
CPR - First Aid Certification

- Ability to conduct in-house training on various health and safety related topics.
- Assist with OSHA inspections, compliance reviews, insurance provider reviews/audits, and other federal, state, or local agency reviews/inquiries.

Provide counsel and floor support to site teams for safety, health and environmental questions, concerns, identification, and control of hazards, recommending best/better practices.
Leads the development of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying, evaluating, and reducing hazards.
Partner with the Corporate Director of EHS on the prioritization or reduction of TF1 and TF2 incidents through appropriate education, training and rigorous safety measures.
Lead and manage the incident management and near miss program, investigating incidents, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
Facilitate the safety committee team, providing guidance, overseeing safety inspections, meetings and task list follow-up.
Responsible for the administration of the workers compensation program at the plant. Ensures completion of First Reports of Injury and other records, maintains contact with workers' compensation carrier and ensures reports are submitted timely. Proactively conducts ergonomic assessments and makes recommendation to reduce risk. Collaborates with HR on accommodations and return to work programs.
Involved in chemical and hazardous materials management programs (i.e., Process Safety Management, Ammonia Refrigeration Management Program, etc.). Ensures Safety Data Sheets are
Lead environmental programs established within the organization to include recycling of all office wastes in accordance with program guidelines, initiate power conservation techniques by turning off lights and computers when not in use.
Partners with the Corporate Director of EHS to implement the environmental control strategies at the plant (Wastewater Treatment, Particles Emission and Filtration, Dust Hazard Control, Ammonia Systems Controls, Process Safety management. Serves as primary point of contact for all Local, State and Federal EH&S related inquiries.
Partners with the Corporate EHS Director and legal teams during all environmental investigations involving government agencies (EPA, DEC, OSHA, etc.). Maintain, monitor and report on all EHS performance metrics.
Create, audit and implement necessary programs and projects across the site in support of permitting & compliance (i.e., OSHA, EPA, site/occupancy planning, chemical storage, noise surveying, air quality, wastewater discharge, SPCC, etc.).
Owns and manages the plant safety audit program, ensuring audits are performed as scheduled and data is captured, monitored and used to drive improvements.
Partner with the Corporate Director of EHS to develop, implement and maintain all EHS written programs/policies/procedures (such as LOTO, Confined Space Entry, etc.) Ensure all policies and procedures are fully deployed and maintained within the plant.
Responsible for EHS reporting which includes performance against targets and goals, regulatory reporting, corporate and customer required reporting. Share trends and suggestions with the plant leadership team to proactively correct and improve EHS performance when targets are not met.

Job Description
As the Safety Trainer, you will design and deliver training programs on food safety, workplace safety, and compliance requirements. You'll conduct routine audits of training effectiveness, maintain accurate training records, and support HR's efforts to foster a safe and compliant workplace.
Responsibilities
Develop, schedule, and deliver training programs on food safety, OSHA, GMPs, workplace safety, and compliance topics.
Conduct training sessions in both English and Spanish to ensure all employees fully understand requirements.
Train QA staff and plant employees on proper procedures, documentation, and safety standards.
Conduct internal audits of training and safety processes to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
Maintain accurate records of employee training and certifications for HR compliance.
Support HR and operations during third-party and regulatory audits by ensuring training compliance.
Provide refresher and corrective action training following incidents or audit findings.
Lead employee safety meetings, emphasizing accountability and a strong safety culture.
Update training materials and procedures to align with changing regulations and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years in industrial safety training, HR compliance, or a related role within a food manufacturing/plant environment.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Occupational Safety, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Certifications (preferred): OSHA 30, HACCP, FSMA training, or other safety-related certifications.
Language Requirement: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal) - must be able to train in both languages.
Skills: Strong presentation, coaching, and communication skills. Ability to engage and motivate diverse employee groups. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Assist the Food Safety Manager to coordinate, develop, implement the food safety/security regulations, policies and procedures for packing, cooling and farming operations.
Assist with training for food safety and quality requirements
Maintain documentation such as SOP's, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as related to any food safety concerns
Conduct internal facility food safety audits as well assist with third party audits
Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards
Update existing food safety procedures and documentation per changing requirements
Work closely with Packing and Cold Storage and Field Managers on any food safety or quality assurance issues
