Detailed Description: * Serve as the CMEHSO for a project in Staten Island, NY, with the guidance and support of the Lead CMEHSO: * Work closely with the Eastern Business Unit H&S Director, Resident Engineer (RE), Construction Manager (CM), and other applicable staff during all phases of the project to identify Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) concerns, offer suggestions on improvement and take action to implement solutions. * Understand client's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be able to communicate requirements and identify non-compliance. * Provide site specific safety orientations to BC team members and other applicable parties. * Support the CM in preparation and implementation of CM JHAs. * Collect and maintain project EHS metrics and provide trending analysis. * Implement the requirements of the CM's EHS Management Plan (EHSMP) and Environmental Health and Safety Plan (EHASP) * Review all EHS related submittals by the Contractors, including, but not limited to, EHASPs, JHAs, monthly reports, asbestos/lead/mercury/PCB management and sampling plans, waste management plans, hazardous waste contingency plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and Stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) to ensure comprehensive oversight of all site activities. * Facilitate weekly EHS meetings with the Contractor's EHS Representative (EHSR), and other project management personnel as appropriate, to ascertain and discuss upcoming construction activity and EHS-related activities for the site to monitor that the Contractor is adequately identifying and addressing the EHS risks and hazards of the work. * Perform and submit CMEHSO daily reports of the Contractors' Work activities and document non-compliance with the construction contractor's EHASPs and JHAs. * Prepare monthly trending analysis of Contractor performance to proactively address Contractor's non-conformance and to be used for Contractor's EHS evaluations. * Notify client, report, investigate, and provide root cause analysis for all "Observations", "Hazards Identifications" (Haz-IDs), "Incidents" and "Near Misses" through client's electronic project management information system (ePMIS). * Oversee Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and drills for the site in coordination with client's Operating Bureaus (when applicable). * Submit EHS monthly status reports and metrics; * Review and manage all EHS Annual Reports (i.e. EPCRA, Hazardous Waste, Confined Space); * Participate in client's EHS Audits and OEHS EHS Assessments; * Conduct EHS "OSHA 1910" inspections throughout the project lifecycle * This position will also work closely with other program H&S staff and specialized Safety Partners to support internal tasks related to the continued growth and improvement of the overall company H&S program. Our Regional Manager of Environmental Health and Safety will champion our national injury prevention initiatives and is responsible for administering, coordinating, and measuring the results of our risk management programs, and other policies impacting the environmental health and safety of our workforce, clients, and tenants. Individual will identify, evaluate, and analyze work environments to mitigate risks and manage programs and procedures that eliminate or control workplace hazards. Will develop and conduct safety training for front-line employees and perform observations to reinforce positive behaviors and correct at-risk behaviors. An ideal candidate will have experience in facilities management, especially in trades such as engineering, mechanical and janitorial. Job Responsibilities: Manage employee training and awareness programs. Develop, implement and coordinate EHS programs. Ensure that UG2 EHS programs are fully implemented at all sites. Work with operations to ensure all work-related injuries and accidents are properly investigated, root causes are identified, corrective actions are taken, and lessons learned are shared. Ability to establish and lead internal audits of the safety program to evaluate conformance with and effectiveness of the health and safety processes and procedures Work with claim management and operations to ensure that all Worker's Compensation claims are filed timely. Work with operations managers to facilitate safety orientation for new sites or new employees. Conduct training to keep department personnel informed on procedures, methods, use of equipment and other quality control techniques. Through directly maintaining satisfaction of the department's requirements in the areas of staffing, orientation, communications and compliance with company policies and related regulations. Manage data applicable to risk management performance at a regional level. Data may include Key Performance Indicators, Total Recordable Incident Rates and Days Away to name a few. Assist with oversight of UG2's Fleet Management Program. Job Description The Field Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) will assist in advancing a higher standard of health and safety throughout all assigned operations of Ameritech Contracting and ensure that no employee is exposed to unacceptable conditions. The SSHO will promote the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Corporate Safety Program throughout the project, conduct inspections, perform audits, conduct safety training, investigate accidents and incidents, and help advance the Safety Culture across the company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct frequent and regular safety inspections (daily) of the site and subcontractors' operations. Conduct weekly formal documented inspections of the entire construction area with subcontractors' “Trade Safety and Health CPs” present in their respective work areas. Coordinate with and report findings and corrective actions weekly to ACE Contracting Officer Representative. Be present on-site when excavation/trenching/shoring is active to monitor safety and ensure the excavation/permit is appropriately completed. Engage heavily with project managers, safety personnel, superintendents, foremen, craft workers, clients, and facility personnel. Audit project documentation for compliance with ACE EM 385, Site APP, and the Corporate Safety Program. Conduct Toolbox Talks and Safety Meetings. Perform site/client/hazard-specific safety training. Assist with the implementation of the Medical Surveillance programs. Handle safety-related documentation and reporting (accidents, injuries, third-party claims, utility incidents, field audits, etc.). Coordinate company safety efforts with all project management. About the Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Director for Global Site Security within Northeastern University's Global Safety & Policing Department, the NY Campus Safety Director (CSD) role leads the day-to-day operations, develops the campus safety team, and oversees the security standards across the campus. The Campus Safety Department is a small team of civilian security officers that support the Northeastern University NY campus in a 24/7 capacity, supplemented with contracted security Other responsibilities include: * Identify areas of improvement within the department, develop options and present recommendations * Develop the staffing model and training standards. * Community engagement and relationship development with surrounding organizations. * Engage students, faculty, staff, and the entire Northeastern community * Provide general safety and security guidance to all members of the community on numerous topics, including best practices related to the safekeeping of university personnel and assets. * Perform site assessments of campus spaces and present recommendations for enhancements. This is an on-call position that will respond in a support function for significant and critical incidents. This position will be based out of the NY Campus.
