The EHS Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at the facility and be responsible for providing focus, definition, and technical expertise for the development of a proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety plan that is consistent with Pactiv Evergreen's (PTVE) corporate policies, vision, and values; and is in compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead the EHS and PSM functions for the location. Drive the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs. Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training as necessary. Oversee the reporting and investigations of any EHS related incident. Facilitate and oversee the necessary environmental, health and safety training to support and enhance the organization's EHS culture. Develop and deploy policies, procedures, programs to support best-practice and identify best-practices with the PTVE system. Provide communication and training to plant management, establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance. Work with the Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to the engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects. Be capable of sharing best practices to assist in driving change across the multiple locations. Have a relentless pursuit for injury prevention, EHS compliance, and overall risk reduction. Be capable of facilitating and sponsoring employee led teams that solve problems and lead the location(s) to a Zero Harm Culture. Be capable of aligning the local team and influencing others to achieve the desired EHS performance objectives outlined by corporate initiatives, business unit initiatives, and local/site initiatives. Review and analyze data to determine the next opportunity to improve EHS performance. Bring experience with innovative EHS compliance and risk reduction techniques via employee engagement, behavior based safety programs, risk assessments, and understanding of implementing, managing, and sustaining EHS programs in a manufacturing environment QUALIFICATIONS: Education: BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering or technical discipline or related field preferred. Experience 5+ years of progressive and related professional EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. 1+ year of experience in a facility covered by Process Safety Management (PSM)/RMP standards with some direct involvement with the PSM program. 1+ year of experience managing a location under a Title V Air Permit or similar air permit. Facility EHS Manager Summary: The EHS Manager is a critical member of the facility leadership team, reporting to the Global Director of EHS. The Safety Lead plays a critical role in leading and supporting the organization's safety initiatives, ensuring that employees adhere to established safety standards, and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace. This individual will coordinate the efforts of the safety team, organize safety programs and training, and assist in managing safety-related incidents to reduce risks and ensure compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities: Follow up on the non-conformities of the audits in order to give continuity to the action plans that allow the satisfaction and release of the same. Collaborate in the situational diagnosis within the facility in order to verify the status of compliance in terms of Environmental, Health and Safety. Perform facility audits in matters of Environmental, Health and Safety in order to verify that the established standards are complied with. Collaborate in the analysis of the risks of the workstations, ergonomics mapping and development or improvement plans if necessary for the application of the same guaranteeing the safety of the activities of each position. Support managers with information and training programs for compliance with applicable regulations. Advise in the execution of emergency drills, evaluation of the same and issuance of recommendations. Provide training in coordination with Plant Manager and HR in order to have conscientious personnel in terms of safety for themselves and the work team for the performance of their functions. Proper implementation of the Injury Management Program. At any given time, has the authority to stop the machines, stop the work of suppliers, according to the established processes. Comply with prerequisite program and hazard control plan, as applicable Team Leadership and Support: Supervise and lead the safety team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Serve as the main point of contact between the safety team and management. Provide support and guidance to team members on safety-related issues. Training and Awareness: Coordinate and facilitate safety training programs, including first aid, CPR, hazard communication, and specific job-related safety courses. Promote employee awareness of safety risks and best practices through meetings, workshops, and posters. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that safety activities comply with OSHA, local, and industry safety regulations. Prepare safety reports and submit them to management, ensuring accurate and timely documentation. Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and provide recommendations for improvements. Emergency Preparedness: Lead the development and execution of emergency response plans and drills. Ensure that employees are trained to respond appropriately in the event of emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, or medical incidents. Continuous Improvement: Work with leadership to continuously improve safety standards and practices. Keep abreast of new safety trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that could impact the organization. Requirements: Must be 18 years or older.
