The Safety Director maintains, develops, enhances, advises on and implements policies, programs and practices relating to safety of personnel within the company.
Working closely with various departments and managers, increasingly in a consultancy roles to understand and implement policies and procedures.
Liaising with Management involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
Develop and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, and corrective actions
Owns the process of identifying, measuring and managing all insurance programs, claims and loss control activities
Management and processing of all general liability, workers compensation, auto, and property claims
Identifying exposures and recommendations and implementation of solutions and approved programs

Budgeting: Manage the safety department's budget, including purchasing safety equipment and training materials.
Team Collaboration: Work with other departments, including HR, Operations, and Project Management, to integrate safety into all aspects of the business.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required. OSHA 500 Certification preferred. CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or other relevant safety certifications are preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of safety management experience in the construction or roofing industry.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, roofing safety standards, and accident investigation techniques.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Driving Record: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as frequent travel to job sites is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to visit job sites, including climbing ladders and working at heights.
