What You Bring

Valid Driver's License required

Job Summary
The EHS Manager plays a vital role in supporting safe and effective operations by means of planning, overseeing, and executing company-wide Health and Safety programs. Responsible for assessing safety needs based on regulatory requirements, as well as communicating and developing action plans, policies, and procedures to ensure employee safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for the coordination of the facility staff to execute company mission statement and to ensure Company/Regulatory requirements are documented and implemented to reduce or eliminate existing and/or potential Health & Safety hazards.
* Accountable for up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements governing the medical marijuana business including regulatory agencies Office of Compassionate Use, OSHA, Fire Department(s), City Zoning and Planning Department(s), and other regulatory agencies
* Continuously looks to identify and develop industry-leading Health & Safety best practices within the facility in coordination with the Companies National Standards and direction.
* Responsible for the identification of workplace hazards through performing monthly safety inspections and conducting Monthly Safety meetings as designed by company standards. Works directly with the National Leader to ensure alignment of auditing processes and reporting methodologies.
* Responsible for the management of employee Health & Safety training programs, maintain training records, and provide training to employees, including basic OSHA training and First Aid/CPR
* Responsible for OSHA compliance, completing OSHA 30-hour General Industry Training and renewing every 4 years
* Responsible for the coordination with facility managers to gather information and observe employee activity to investigate accidents and injuries and determine compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and company policies and provide documented recommendation of solutions to reduce and/or eliminate future risks.
* Responsible for the management of recordkeeping to include writing a variety of reports including accident reports, Health & Safety violation reports, as well as completing required Health & Safety forms such as OHSA 300 & OSHA 300A
* Responsible for the review of accident reports, incident reports and other employee-completed documentation as part of the investigation process as well as required company reporting.
* Adapt to a variety of working environments including offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities, with the ability to gather information from a range of employees
* Responsible for coordinating with regulatory agency personnel to schedule annual inspections, audits, and facilitate random inspections including any follow-up action items from inspections/audits.

Utilizes a risk-based approach to evaluate processing methods, production controls, equipment design, structural design and maintenance, and personnel practices to assure that foods for human consumption are safe and prepared, packed, distributed and stored under sanitary conditions. Performs inspections/reviews, as required, for contract or cooperative agreement programs with federal partners including, but not limited to, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Performs opening inspections on food establishments, evaluating and assessing the food processes and activities conducted to determine the requirements for the specific business. Utilizes science based knowledge to determine compliance with environmental and sanitation regulations for processes which may include, but not be limited to, reduced oxygen packaging, low acid food processing, seafood processing, acidified foods, and foods deemed potentially hazardous due to their ability to support rapid growth of infectious or toxigenic microorganisms, which may occur in food establishments. Prepares reports to document regulatory deficiencies, interprets and explains significance of public health laws, rules and sanitation and safety standards to food establishment personnel, advising management of the necessary corrective action as part of each inspection. Initiates stop sale orders, stop use orders, destruction reports, release notices, and movement of goods under stop sale orders when indicated by inspection findings. Assists as needed in other territories and districts. Provides support to the State Hemp Program.
Responsible for other inspection functions including, but not limited to, investigation of consumer complaints; follow up reporting; food-borne illness investigations; information requests from consumers; opening inspections for new businesses; special inspections of fire or flood damaged food establishments; inspection of foods in vehicles involved in accidents; multi-agency investigations/inspections or special projects; any emergency response and other tasks, as may be designated. Periodically handles emergency request calls. Some tasks will require evening, weekend and/or holiday activity, including overnight and/or extended travel. Independently exercises professional judgment and institutes appropriate enforcement actions while discharging responsibilities. Uses effective judgment, knowledge of statutes and rules involved, and awareness of legal implications for compliance with regulations, sanitation, cleanliness, labeling and other food safety regulations and related requirements.
Responsible for inspecting and testing foods for compliance with consumer protection standards. Conducts inspections and reports the results of testing of foods using various test procedures and methods for compliance with consumer protection standards using sampling methods required by each procedure to insure statistically valid findings. Related tasks include, but are not limited to, the review of food labels for misrepresentation and inclusion of mandatory consumer information, evaluation of advertising matter for possible product misrepresentation, selection of food samples for laboratory analysis, and investigation and collection of food samples when circumstances indicate possible food adulteration or other violations of the law. Responsible for the operation, calibration and maintenance of inspection test equipment including, but not limited to, thermometers, sanitizer test kits, ph meters, and associated equipment and reagents.
Administrative functions include the preparation and timely submission of accurate and complete inspection reports, sample collection reports, food permit applications, consumer complaint reports, daily activity reports, travel vouchers, expense vouchers, supply requisitions and other documents as may be required. Responsible for attending training sessions and courses as designated. Responsible at all times for following department policies and procedures and conducting official duties in a professional manner as a representative of FDACS. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Theory and applied knowledge in biological, chemical, physical and environmental factors affecting food safety and related control measures.

In this role, you'll assist in the development, implementation, and administration of safety, health, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection.
Our Health & Safety Site Specialists:
- Perform assessments of Health & Safety performance of projects within their areas of responsibility and generate of report including recommendations to the project in areas requiring improvement.
- Review and assist with training of operations personnel.
- Coordinate and providing training.
- Ensure an overall improving trend for key safety metrics in their area of responsibility TRR, DART, RTW program implementation, etc.
- Communicate gaps in project Health & Safety programs if they are not corrected in a timely manner.
- Have specific knowledge of specialty areas (OSHA 1910 &1926, etc.) and perform onsite audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Are responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of Health & Safety disciplines to achieve compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work under very general direction and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions. Responsible for implementation of field and office HS&E program and occupational safety and health regulation in regional operations.
- Monitor and prevent chemical, physical and biological hazards and diseases that could be present in the workplace.
- May act as a lead person or technical expert and provide direction to less experienced personnel.
- Conduct regular walk-through inspections and investigations in accordance with legal requirements.
- Work closely with site management on any procedural roll outs and site compliance.
- Identify and recommend resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions and follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
- Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents; compile data, photographs, etc. and prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, local regulations associated with accidents; issue various entry permits (i.e. to confine spaces) as required; conduct various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas, noise test to ensure safe working conditions; may assist in conducting employee/craft and insurance inspectors on walk through tours; may accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on walk through tours.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as, outdoors which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination when preparing reports and using a computer keyboard, have vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents and operate office equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour time period must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
