Primary Responsibilities

* E, H&S Training - Ensure compliance with company and regulatory training requirements through classroom training or computer-based training programs. Run reports to demonstrate compliance with area management.

Qualifications
8+ years construction safety leadership
Bachelors degree in construction management, environmental health and safety or equivalent experience
OSHA 510/500 required
CHST/CSP required
Experience on large, complex mission critical, industrial, and commercial construction projects

Safety manager job in Odessa, TX
Lone Star Corporation is searching for a reliable full-time field safety representative. Responsible for conducting safety and compliance audits and assessments. Ensures we maintain a safe workplace by evaluating that our policies and procedures are being implemented at job sites. Must be confident in prioritizing tasks, self-motivated and trustworthy.
Daily Activities
Promote and develop safe work behaviors. Assist and coach associates to reduce injuries and accidents.
* Plan, administer and support ongoing safety programs to ensure compliance.
* Interpret safety policies, regulations and standards to recommend or provide direction.
* Keep current with regulations concerning DOT, OSHA, and NFPA 70E.
* Spend 80-90% of the time conducting field audits. Prepare written reports of findings. Make recommendations for corrective actions and follow up to ensure actions have been implemented.
* Assist in monthly safety meetings and attend client contractor safety meetings
* Assist in setting up and maintaining any required permits and safety training
* Verify availability or monitor use of safety equipment
* Able to utilize attention to detail to find and correct problems during on-sight visits with our employees
* Enforce job safety at all times
* Knowledge of databases, Microsoft Word/Excel and a decent handle on navigating computers
* Response to incidents and assist with incident investigations
* Inspecting equipment, vehicles, structures, or materials
Position Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Electrical background highly preferred
* Bilingual preferred
* Great communicator
* Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures
* High degree of attention to detail
* Safety experience in the oil and gas industry. Safety certifications are a plus
* Pass a drug test
* Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record
* Able to drive long distances and have open availability for after-hours and weekends
Compensation
Compensation will be paid at an hourly rate.
