TK Elevator is seeking an experienced Area Safety Specialist located in Miami, FL.
The Area Safety Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of TK Elevator employees, subcontractors, and customers across job sites in the Miami region. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive jobsite evaluations, delivering safety training, and leading incident investigations to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Job Safety Evaluations:
Conduct regular field inspections and audits of active job sites to assess safety compliance.
Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with field supervisors and technicians to implement safety improvements.
FPPE Verification Protocol - Verify that all team members can accurately articulate and demonstrate the steps of the FPPE process during site visits.”

Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or industrial safety, preferably in the elevator or vertical transportation industry.
OSHA 30 certification required: CSP, CHST, or similar credential a plus.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices.
Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel regularly within the greater South Florida area (Tampa to Miami) and occasionally surrounding states (TN / GA / AL / SC)

The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) willing to travel up to 100% for commercial/government construction projects to maintain safety for every aspect of the project. Safety is critical to the success of our construction projects and this position will be the key person responsible for adherence to our safety standards. The ideal candidate will provide proactive, visible leadership in developing the safety culture on the project site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Conduct and document daily safety and health inspections
* Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports
* Maintain safety reference materials on the jobsite
* Attend all preparatory and periodic in-progress meetings
* Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements and inspections
* Conduct new employee safety orientation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* BCSP certification as a Safety Trained Supervisor (STS), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.

This professional and technical position is responsible for developing, monitoring and administering the Utilities Department's health and safety initiatives and training program. All programs must adhere to applicable federal, state and local safety, health and environmental regulations as well as industry standards. This position develops, implements, and manages safety and training policies, procedures and directives. Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the Department's safety and training programs. Serves as the Department Safety Officer and liaison with the County's Risk Management Division regarding County safety policies, objectives and training initiatives.
Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Represents the County in community and industry safety groups and programs.
Develops and maintains the Utilities Department's safety plan and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to safety.
