How you'll make an impact Acting as an onsite safety liaison with primary focus in construction and fire safety, incumbent(s) will conduct job site inspections to monitor conformance with constructions and fire safety standards and coordinate with the project management team to help improve safety on the jobsite. Inspects site to determine if conditions meet the required Federal, state and local standards and documents any unsafe conditions. Provides comprehensive accident investigations that include interview, photographs and written report. Coordinates with client and participates in loss control inspections with insurance brokers and/or carrier representatives and accompany all regulatory official on site inspections. Coordinates onsite safety meetings and appropriate tool box talks. Perform new worker orientations. May supervise onsite staff. About You Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or science. Minimum 6 years experience in engineering or safety and health consulting. Registration or designation in one or more of the following technical areas: Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional or Professional Engineer. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and other applicable regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain the Site Health and Safety Plan (HASP) and Emergency Response Plan (ERP). Lead emergency response efforts including chemical spills, fires, and medical emergencies. Serve as Incident Commander or Safety Officer during emergency events. Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs). Deliver HAZWOPER and emergency response training to site personnel. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate safety records and report performance metrics. Collaborate with site supervisors, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field or 8 years of related field and management experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in hazardous waste or emergency response environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA regulations. Experience with emergency response planning and incident command systems (ICS). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Leadership: Ability to lead safety initiatives and emergency teams effectively. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour supervisor/refresher as applicable.
