They also assist operations management with accident documentation. Communicate with injured employees. Accompany employees to initial and following medical treatments to ensure that employees are taken care of and that the physician understands employees' duties and explains our light-duty policy. Plans, implements, and coordinates programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses or deaths, and financial losses. Assists in the continued development of Corporate Operating Procedures, policies, and procedures for safety. The Site Safety Manager will record and maintain data for various safety statistics such as first aids & recordables, graphing trends by type and area, etc. Then enters data into the audit system. Reviews data for trends. Conducts training on safety, new employee orientation, and drug testing of employees as required. Conducts safety audits and identifies any hazards or abating any unsafe behaviors or conditions in the work area. Visually inspects MSS Solutions, LLC vehicles and equipment for damage and roadworthiness. Assists in pre-job/shutdown planning whenever possible with the Project Manager and Superintendents. Makes personal contact with the working crews to build relationships, addresses concerns, and identifies improvement opportunities. Attends customer-sponsored/mandated safety meetings Counsels/coaches employees when policy infractions are noted and inform appropriate supervision for additional counseling and possible disciplinary actions. Responsibilities * Provide on-site and off-site general safety and OSHA compliance support for construction and general industry clients. * Conduct safety inspections, jobsite audits, and hazard assessments. * Assist clients with implementation and compliance related to OSHA programs. * Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and conduct incident investigations. * Prepare written reports, findings, and recommendations for clients. * Maintain effective communication with clients and internal project team members. * Support project managers as needed on assigned projects. * Perform all work in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable safety regulations. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Essential Skills * Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial safety, construction safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience). * Working knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to general industry and construction. * Experience in manufacturing and/or construction safety environments. * Ability to travel to client sites on an as-needed basis. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent attention to detail and observational skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Flexible availability to support projects on an on-call basis. * Highly motivated and committed to producing high-quality work. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) preferred. * Knowledge of hazard communication, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, fall protection, confined spaces, and job safety analyses (JSAs). This position ensures all operational, maintenance, and environmental activities are conducted in strict compliance with federal, state, and local safety standards requirements. The SSHO works collaboratively with the Program Manager (PM) and Quality Control Manager (QCM) to promote a unified safety and quality culture, perform enterprise-level risk assessments, and ensure consistent reporting and compliance across all 81st RD sites. This position is contingent upon contract award and is for a possible contract. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and enforce the Contractor's Safety and Health Program in accordance with contract requirements and applicable regulations. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, AR 420-1, and EO 14057 sustainability and environmental directives. Conduct daily safety inspections, hazard analyses, and risk assessments for all ongoing site activities. Prepare, maintain, and update all required Safety Plans, Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), and other safety documentation. Provide regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety-related training for all project personnel and subcontractors. Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-miss events, ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Maintain complete and accurate safety records, including logs, inspection reports, and incident summaries, for government review. Coordinate closely with the PM and QCM to integrate safety performance into quality control and operational objectives. Conduct enterprise-level trend analysis to identify risks and develop preventive measures across all supported sites. Promote a strong, proactive safety culture emphasizing continuous improvement and employee engagement in safety initiatives. Required Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing a Contractor's safety program on contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity within the past. Must have successfully completed the 30-hour OSHA Safety Class or equivalent within the last three (3) years. Must pass a background screen Preferred Qualifications: Dedicated safety professional certified in OSHA-30 and EM 385-1-1 compliance. Advanced training in Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), AR 420-1 sustainability, and Executive Order (EO) 14057 environmental compliance. Experience performing enterprise-level risk assessments and implementing preventive safety programs across multiple project locations.
