Manage compliance programs for laboratory operations, hazardous waste storage and disposal, stormwater/wastewater management, air quality, and chemical inventories. Coordinate sustainability efforts such as recycling programs, composting, and reduction of single-use plastics. Support safe operations of campus research and teaching laboratories by ensuring compliance with environmental health standards. Maintain and implement safety programs covering maintenance, custodial, grounds, athletic facilities, and laboratories. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local public health requirements. Promote safety practices for ABM team members and the broader campus community. Conduct environmental and safety risk assessments across labs, dormitories, athletic fields, and remaining campus locations. Identify hazards affecting people, research activities, and the environment, and implement mitigation strategies. Lead safety and environmental committees to ensure engagement and support. Prepare and maintain documentation such as environmental permits, OSHA logs, chemical inventories, training records, and inspection reports. Investigate laboratory spills, chemical exposures, and safety incidents. Determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and prepare reports for both college stakeholders and ABM leadership. Deliver EH&S training for ABM employees, college staff, and students. Provide specialized training for laboratory personnel, groundskeeping crews, custodians, and maintenance staff. Develop and implement response plans for chemical spills and laboratory accidents. Coordinate drills with campus public safety, fire department, and emergency management. Promote a strong safety and sustainability culture throughout campus operations. Engage students, faculty, and staff in safety awareness campaigns and environmental responsibility initiatives. Monitor emerging EH&S regulations, sustainability practices, and higher education risk trends. Recommend and implement innovative strategies to improve campus EH&S performance. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of EH&S experience (education or campus setting preferred). Demonstrated success in managing environmental compliance, laboratory safety, and general workplace safety initiatives.
