Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Safety Coordinator role at Prime Safety Management LLC in Richmond, VA area, supporting a subcontractor on a civil construction project..
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for conducting site safety audits, delivering safety meetings and new hire safety orientations, performing equipment inspections, conducting LOTO inspections, and other areas of construction safety management.
The Safety Coordinator must also be well-versed in basic software applications, including Microsoft Office, Hammertek, iAuditor, Procore, and other safety management programs. Previous experience as a safety professional managing safety objectives on solar sites, wind farms, or electrical installation projects is required.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a safety professional working in a data center, battery plant, or similar commercial construction projects is required.
OSHA 500/502, BCSP certification, or a Bachelor's Degree in Safety is required.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must be fit and able.

Specific Description

The Safety Manager position is an important role for the company. The ideal candidate will assist the Director, Loss Control and the Project Team in support of the safety controls, processes, and procedures for the prevention of disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. This position will provide the opportunity to develop on the job experience in learning how to conduct inspections, accident/incident investigations and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and manage safety compliance contractually and within Federal and State laws for various project sites.

Ensure and as needed assists with daily safety checklists for tools, equipment, and other materials and fleet as needed.
Lead by example and promote a zero accident environment for all company activities.
Assist with coordination of drug and alcohol testing as needed and within company policy and contractual requirements.
Must be able to meet the background check and fitness for duty requirements as set forth by the assigned projects/customer requirements.
Must possess a valid state driver's license and have reliable transportation.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in health and safety and/or environmental or related academic discipline.
5-10 years experience in a safety related department or field in the construction industry.
Familiarity with Health And Safety Plans (HASP's) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's).
OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent and maintain competency through 24 hours of formal safety and health related coursework every four years.
Familiarity with the construction industry, OSHA, federal, state, and city environmental and safety regulations and practices.
CHST, STS, OSHA 500 all are a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel).
Working knowledge of project and financial software a plus.

A Project HSE Manager is an integral member of a project team and they are highly dedicated to the health and well-being of others. The center provides dispatch services for the Prince William County Police Department, the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System, and Fire and Rescue services for the independent Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. In 2024, the center processed over 410,000 inbound calls and dispatched more than 160,000 police, fire, and EMS incidents. The successful candidate will collaborate with IT professionals, public safety specialists, and vendors to ensure high-availability communications that support efficient and effective emergency response across the region. This role also contributes to the development, integration, and maintenance of other 9-1-1 and public safety technologies within the County's mission-critical environment.
About This Role:
Working as part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining the technology that supports the 9-1-1 center and public safety operations, the System Administrator is primarily accountable for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Motorola ASTRO P25 radio system and associated radios within the Department of Public Safety Communications. The Administrator will play a key role in projects and initiatives related to public safety communications.
The successful candidate will be expected to analyze data and assess emerging technologies to provide informed planning recommendations and status updates to departmental leadership. Additional responsibilities include assisting agencies with communications training and contributing to the development and maintenance of other 9-1-1 technologies as assigned.
The System Administrator serves as the County's primary representative for interoperable radio communications within the greater Metropolitan Washington, D.C. region. This highly visible role involves regular collaboration with radio, public safety, information technology, and leadership teams from surrounding jurisdictions, representing the County's interests in regional radio meetings and working groups. The position ensures seamless interoperability for Prince William County personnel operating outside County boundaries and for external agencies operating within the County.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in system administration, networking, wireless communications, public safety information technology, and/or public safety operations, along with strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills. A calm and professional demeanor under pressure is essential. Experience with P25 trunked radio systems, subscriber programming, and voice recording systems is strongly preferred. However, the Department of Public Safety Communications is committed to investing significant time and resources in training the right individual for this critical role.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 6 years of experience in system administration, networking, information technology, wireless communications, radio programming, or public safety.
Preferences:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, computer science, wireless communications, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
* 3+ years of experience in public safety technology.
* Administration, management, or technical experience with P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 radio systems.

Work Schedule:
This is a 40-hour-per-week position with some options for teleworking and flexible scheduling. Schedule is dependent on conditions such as, but not limited to, system degradation, operational need, inclement weather, and large-scale incidents. The incumbent may be required to work outside of their normal schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The position is eligible for additional straight-time compensation in cases of operational need.
Starting Salary Range: $81,140.80 - $105,000.00/yr.

Responsibilities:
Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations
Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements and updates
Facilitates employee training on applicable safety standards
Recommends risk reduction strategies
Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacement
Drafts and implements internal safety standards and policies
Investigates accidents to identify causes and/or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards; must have completed OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience conducting training
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Prefer experience working with or inspecting electrical work
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crawl
Must be able to drive for extended periods of time
Must be able to see color
Must be able to work in various conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to work Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 5:00PM; additional work may be required, including some night shift hours
