Job Title: Safety Manager
Reports To: Director of Human Resources
Department: Safety & Security
The Safety Manager is responsible for the continuous overall coordination and implementation of employee health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and policies, but most importantly, to ensure employee safety for the Tulare, Lost Hills, and Firebaugh facilities. This is done by developing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and assess risk at all levels within the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts regular walkthroughs and inspections of all three facilities; assess any potential safety issues and initiates corrective action.
Trains, tests, and certifies employees requiring a Forklift, Ariel Platform and any other equipment requiring a certification.
Investigates incidents, injuries, and property damage including compiling data, taking photographs, and completing proper documentation.
Compiles data, photographs, etc.; prepares all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local regulations associated with accidents.
Issues various permits (i.e. Hot Work, Confined Space, etc.) as required.
Responsible for employee safety training portion of new hire orientation process.
Maintains all safety related binders and safety training matrix.
Prepares and conducts Quarterly Tailgate Trainings.
Facilitates required Annual, Semi Annual and Quarterly Employee Safety Trainings.
Conducts inventories of safety equipment items and supplies, reorders items as needed.
Issues Employee PPE, Bump Caps, etc.
Issues HID Badges and maintains the HID tracking system.
Works with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.
Assists management in assessing risks throughout various levels of processing.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job.
Follow all company safety protocols.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Interviews, hires, and trains new employees.
Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance feedback.
Reviews and approved timecards properly.
Partners with Food Safety and quality to promote a quality first mindset.
Partners with Human Resources to train, develop, and discipline employees in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in health and safety or equal experience a related field preferred.
5+ years' experience working in a safety related role within an operational environment.
5+ years of supervisory experience.
Certified Trainer for various equipment as required.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Food Defense Certified.
OSHA 30 Certification
CPR - First Aid Certification

Department Overview
The Coworkers of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
Position Summary
Leads teams through change and continual improvement to ensure compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Order (GO) 165. Ensures the electric transmission operations system facilities are in compliance with General Orders 95 and 128 through an efficient, compliant execution of GO165 inspections and patrols.
This position offers a flexible work location in the southern service area, including the Bay Region, Central Valley Region or South Bay/Central Region. The position is hybrid, and includes supervising employees in the field.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Job Responsibilities
* Supervises a team in assigned geographic area to ensure the safe, efficient and timely completion of work.
* Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards & recognition.
* Implements work practices that support reduced operating cost.
* Works with the Quality Assurance Department when conducting periodic reviews of facility conditions, in preparation for CPUC audits, and in preparing and closing review and audit findings.

* Reviews, approves and signs off on completed work documentation and overall work progress. Ensures communication of updated information from inspections to the Mapping department.
* Supervise bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit employees.
* Integrates GO 165 in the work/document verification process.
* Interfaces with customers on sensitive issues surrounding inspections, such as gaining access to a customer's property.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The In-Plant Safety Specialist identifies and eliminates hazards in the workplace by ensuring compliance with our safety procedures in the plant. The individual in this position must know, understand, and be able to communicate our safety policies and practices to team members, and train and re-train team members on proper safety practices. Job duties include:
* Ensure team members comply with all company policies and procedures and customer requirements.
* Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures.
* Follow Site Management, Area Management, Division Managements, VP, and Technical Services directives regarding issues related to Safety, Health, and Environmental.
* Maintain regular communication with Site Manager, Safety, and Technical Services team.
* Report all accidents and first aid following established accident and first aid reporting SOP, including reporting "caught-in" type accidents following established protocol.
* Perform investigations at the plant level as needed including severe injuries, OSHA complaints, and when necessary to assist other departments.
* Ensure all investigations are followed up and an action plan is implemented successfully.
* Perform weekly safety audits, assist operations with corrective actions, and report findings by email to appropriate management.
* Exercise independent judgement and issue disciplinary action or terminate team members for safety violations.
* Complete the In-Plant Safety Specialist on the job training including regularly scheduled and completed safety training, making improvements to safety awareness, training consistency, safety performance metrics, and knowledge of management and team members.
* Other duties as assigned.
YOUR MUST HAVES:
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
* Bachelor's degree in safety related field or equivalent job experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Maintains thorough working knowledge of S&S Activewear policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and company safety guidelines to ensure injuries are prevented and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
