The Safety, Health & Environmental Manager (commonly referred to as an Environmental Health & Safety Manager externally) will lead the facility in safety and environmental initiatives at Ecolab's Martinsburg WV manufacturing plant. The SHE manager will take safety programs from the implementation stage to integration, providing superior training and partnering with the leadership team and front-line associates to influence change while achieving a commitment to a culture of safety among employees.
Partnering with plant leadership the SHE manager will be responsible for overall building comfort and functionality in safety, environment and security. The SHE manager will drive sustainability initiatives to decrease utilization of energy and improve recycling. As the key representative to outside agencies the SHE Manager will also drive compliance with regulatory and environmental permits. The SHE Manager will coordinate audits of the managed area and collaborates with leadership to ensure findings are addressed. They stay informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations and ensure compliance in managed areas. The SHE manager provides local regulatory reporting if required and ensures that leading and lagging SHE metrics are collected. They review metrics, trends, and actions with the supported Leadership team.

What You Will Do:
Provide guidance & technical expertise to ensure compliance with SH&E regulations including governmental, state, industry, and Ecolab requirements.

Uphold compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations and develop SOPs for facility compliance including but not limited to RCRA, EPA, SWPPP, Clean Water Act, OSHA & safety contingency plans.
Manage all data mandated by environmental permits or regulations and prepare and submit all related reports.
Develop, track, & communicate SH&E indicators.
Supervise facilities infrastructure projects in relation to compliance with federal, state, and local air, water, and waste regulations.
Develop & implement systems & processes to reduce hazardous waste generation, increase recycling & conservation practices to meet our sustainability goals of water reduction and zero landfill.
Evaluate systems & implement projects to meet/maintain the increasingly stringent requirements of the wastewater & air quality permits at the plant location; ensure all permitting is up to date.
Leads plant emergency response team, serves as a member of the Central Safety Committee & other multi-division SH&E efforts including spill response programs.

* Observe job activities and identify any site hazards.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Provide training and education to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and compliance.
Stay updated on emerging EHS regulations and best practices to maintain compliance and improve workplace safety.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management or a related role.
Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees at all levels.
Experience conducting training sessions and developing EHS programs.
CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar certification is preferred.
Proficient in EHS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

This position is located at Marshall County Coal Resources in Cameron, West Virginia. We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals for an experienced level mining position and is assigned to the underground mining operations.
This position maintains an effective safety program and rapport with safety representatives from government agencies and other organizations. This position would report to the Safety Director of the mine.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Examines areas of the mine or surface to maintain a safe work environment
Confers with management representatives to advise of hazards
Participates in the investigation and review of all serious accidents, disabling injuries, fatalities and major disasters
Conducts mine inspections and accident investigations
Provides recommendations to prevent unsafe or hazardous conditions from reoccurring
Maintains a violation log and report file
Conducts dust sampling and noise level readings
Maintains appropriate results data
Maintains a working knowledge of safety codes, laws and regulations
Provides first aid and ambulance service for injured mine personnel
Inspects first aid stations, supplies and equipment; restocks as necessary
Suggest proper personal protective devices for employees
Maintains and controls SCSRs on mantrips as well as other vehicles and storage stations
Conducts 90-day inspections
Conducts MSHA required noise surveys
Submits MSHA required reports and health standard compliance notification
Calibrates safety testing instruments and maintains records
Updates task training and annual refresher training files
Hazard train visitors, contractors, vendors, or other company personnel before they enter the mine
Travels with Federal and State mine inspectors throughout the mine, documenting findings, and reporting them to Mine Management
Records citations issued and due date for abatement
Faxes copy of citations to corporate safety
Experience
Must have a minimum of 2+ years of related experience in mine operations, electrical or safety experience, preferred
Associates Degree in Industrial Health and Safety, preferred
May require MSHA Instructor, Underground Mine Foreman, Fireboss, First-Aid, Dust and Noise Sampling Certification
Requirements
Must be 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED, required
Must possess effective verbal communication skills
Detail oriented
Must possess basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Requires thorough knowledge of coal mining operations; including but not limited to safety, welding/fabrication, production, maintenance, economics, equipment usage, and staff utilization
