YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: The Senior Safety Coordinator is a mid-level safety professional responsible for assisting in administrating job site safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role will report to a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager and requires the development of independence in managing safety requirements for the project. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas (Upwards of 80% of the Job is spent in the field doing audits and interacting with the crews) Identify, document, and recommend a resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made. Participate in job pre-task planning and job site safety meetings. Review a three-week look ahead with field leadership to identify training opportunities and upcoming high-risk work for the project. Knowledge of company LOTO implementation procedures at project sites and facilities. Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents. Compile safety data, photographs, etc.; prepare all appropriate forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local accident regulations. Issue various entry permits (i.e., to confined spaces) as required Support crisis management and emergency rescue plans as required.Maintain fire protection equipment and systems. Conduct awareness-level training and new hire orientations The duties and responsibilities describe this position's general nature and scope of work. WHAT YOU BRING TO US: Preferred Bachelor's degree OSHA 30 Construction Certification STS-C CPR - First Aid Certification 2 years of safety construction experience Can be a combination of training, education, and relevant work experience WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Proficient in using electronic devices (i.e., phone, tablet, computer) for safety audit software and emails. Our nuclear safety analysts are responsible for obtaining federal authorization to conduct nuclear operations at the Pantex Plant. These operations support nuclear weapon production and include assembly, dismantlement, component surveillance, transportation, and storage. Nuclear Safety Analysts are responsible for evaluating accidents that could occur during operations (events ranging from process upsets and equipment failures to fires, earthquakes, and floods). Nuclear safety analysts are also responsible for identifying the safety measures that need to be implemented to ensure the workers and public are adequately protected. The measures range from administrative controls, such as material inventory limits, to engineered controls, such as fire suppression systems. To fulfill those responsibilities, nuclear safety must obtain a working knowledge of Pantex operations to develop and maintain the Pantex Safety Basis Documentation as required by 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 830. Job Summary: The primary purpose of the Project Safety Coordinator is to minimize the risks of job related accidents and to promote health and safety at a designated project location. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Attend safety walks, inspections, regular meetings that may be required onsite. Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe equipment operation. Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace. Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers. Education and Experience: 1-2 years of safety coordination experience. Bachelor's degree in health and safety or a related field may be preferred. OSHA 30 Hour Certificate for Construction is required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
