Under limited supervision, the Safety Specialist will implement and administer all aspects of the corporate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program and the site-specific safety program for assigned area or responsibility.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Implement and administer environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program and site-specific environmental, health, and safety (EHS) plans.
Implement, administer, and conduct orientation and basic trainings. Continuously educating, coaching, and mentoring either in a classroom, meeting, or during job walks.
Performs regular and frequent site inspections and observations. Engages with employees, supervision, and management, continuously educating, coaching on safe work practices. Seeks opportunities to praise, recognize, and award our employees and teams.
Documents findings, compiles information, creates detailed reports, analyzes data, and tracks progress. Maintains files and records for long term storage.
Coordinates with client/owner, project management, field supervision, and divisional/regional leadership to ensure successful implementation of EHS program/plan. Represents safety in meetings.
Begins the shift in the field, coordinating with crews, participating in pre-task plans and stretch and flex, ensuring teams have what they need to work safely.
Performs, documents, and records environmental sampling utilizing tools like a dosimeter, light meter, multi-gas meter, etc.
Coordinates emergency response, provides care for injured employees, performs incident investigation, conducts interviews, compiles information and photographs, completes incident reports, participates in incident review process, tracks progress on recommended corrective actions, and develops lessons learned to be shared.
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor's degree in environmental, health, safety
High school diploma or equivalent w/ experience.
0-6 months with bachelor's degree
5 years of relevant experience w/ high school diploma or equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $47,400-$71,000. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.

• Shall have demonstrated experience in the development of Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs), hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process; the accident and consequence analysis process; the selection of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents; and the documentation of the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.
• This support is required to cover the existing manpower shortage in the Safety Analysis Engineering Department.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Currently Active DOE Q Clearance Required (MUST BE US CITIZEN).
• BS in Technical discipline combined with at least 20 years documented safety analysis experience
• Previous Pantex experience preferred.

Responsibilities
* Implement the service line safety strategy across projects to minimize risk.
* Emphasize involvement in safety processes from all levels of management and craft.

* Implement and maintain an effective front-line supervisor safety leadership training program.
* Conduct documented project inspections to identify at-risk conditions and behaviors.
* Following each site visit, conduct a documented close-out meeting with project leadership to discuss findings, necessary corrective actions, and target completion timelines.
* Assure that all projects are in full compliance with corporate safety policies and applicable regulations, including documentation retention and OSHA recordkeeping.
* Perform and communicate regular (at least monthly) leading indicators assessments to proactively identify trends and recommend corrective action before a loss occurs.
* Develop and present training on a variety of subjects with or without subject matter experts (SME's)
Qualifications
Experience & Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in safety, or safety-related field from an accredited university (Preferred).
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Heavy Civil Construction (Required).
* OSHA 500 certification (Preferred)
* First Aid and CPR instructor Certified (Required, can obtain post-hire).
* CHST or equivalent (Preferred)

Position Summary:
Hoffman Construction is seeking a Safety Administrator. This individual will be an integral member of the on-site Safety Department, providing essential support throughout the lifecycle of a hyper-scaled data center construction project. YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Safety Coordinator is a mid-level safety professional responsible for assisting in administrating job site safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role will report to a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager and requires the development of independence in managing safety requirements for the project.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas (Upwards of 80% of the Job is spent in the field doing audits and interacting with the crews)
Identify, document, and recommend a resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
Participate in job pre-task planning and job site safety meetings.
Review a three-week look ahead with field leadership to identify training opportunities and upcoming high-risk work for the project.
Knowledge of company LOTO implementation procedures at project sites and facilities.
Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents.
Compile safety data, photographs, etc.; prepare all appropriate forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local accident regulations.
Issue various entry permits (i.e., to confined spaces) as required
Support crisis management and emergency rescue plans as required.Maintain fire protection equipment and systems.
Conduct awareness-level training and new hire orientations
