About the Team: The Safety Regulatory Compliance Operations (SRCO) Team for TikTok USDS is a multi-disciplinary team that handles risk detection, prevention and handling in the United States. As a Child Safety Specialist at TikTok, you'll be part of a global team that ensures the timely detection and removal of content across the broad spectrum of online child endangerment, such as child sexual abuse and exploitation. Through close partnerships with Legal, Policy, and Product & Process teams, you will manage global time-sensitive escalations, and child endangerment incidents to protect our online community.

Our Child Safety team performs a critical function that supports our efforts to address objectionable or disturbing content. Content that the Child Safety team interacts with includes images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child abuse; sexual assault; torture; bestiality; self-harm; suicide; and murder.
It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content on a daily basis.
This position will be full-time and will be based in our Washington D.C. location and will entail a Tuesday through Saturday work week.
This position is part of a team that provides 24/7 support and requires working scheduled shifts, which may include holidays.
Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate operational excellence on a team that evaluates legal risk and user privacy in the world centered around child safety
* Assume responsibility of an inbound review queue made up of internal escalations related to the most vulnerable users in our community
* Be aware of and willing to operate in a work environment with sensitive content that includes child sexual abuse, exploitation and other material that may be considered offensive or disturbing
* Execute on repetitive core work tasks while maintaining attention to detail and keeping an eye out for potential process improvements
* Conduct review of both live/historical user generated content with a detail-oriented approach and in accordance with team guidance for reporting to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) Minimum Qualifications:

Facilitate and deliver all standard, job specific and ongoing training in safety and environmental awareness for all levels of the workforce and regularly verify the tasks are correctly executed.
Create and implement safety polices and procedures.
Facilitate timely completion of accident/injury reporting.
Adheres to OSHA, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Fire Code (IFC) and other applicable safety codes.
Attend professional development training sessions as directed

Ensure proper use and continued upkeep of all required PPE.

Manage and support incident investigations in a timely manner. Perform root-cause analysis with the goal of eliminating future like incidents.
Analyze incidents and workers compensation loss-runs for trends and make recommendations for improvements to management.
Ensure SRC's compliance with all federal and state environmental, health, and safety regulations. Complete all required reporting to these bodies on time.
Provide leadership and guidance to the local safety committee.
Create a “Safety Culture” that fosters broad-based participation, commitment, and compliance for all departments and individuals.

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a business-related field, or combination of significant work experience and certifications with the realm of EHS.
