Position Overview
SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to support a concrete contractor on a high-visibility construction project in the Tampa, Florida area. This role requires a proactive, field-driven safety professional with a solid background in construction safety, concrete operations, and crew engagement.
This is a W-2 contract position for a local candidate only, with an immediate start and an expected duration of 2-5 months depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) oversight on an active concrete construction site.
Conduct and document daily field safety inspections, hazard assessments, and jobsite audits.
Support concrete operations including formwork, rebar installation, elevated decks, shoring, lifting operations, and equipment use.
Lead site-specific safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
Collaborate closely with project leadership and field foremen to enforce safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and execute corrective and preventative actions.
Maintain accurate EHS documentation including JHAs, inspections, permits, and daily safety reports.
Maintain a strong field presence to coach, mentor, and influence crews toward safe work practices.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably supporting concrete contractors or heavy civil operations.
OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 and/or OSHA 500 preferred.
CHST or other BCSP credential is a plus but not required.
Strong understanding of construction site hazards, equipment operations, fall protection, rigging, and concrete operations.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a hands-on, field-focused approach.
Must be a local candidate in the Tampa Bay area (no per diem or relocation available).
Must be available to start immediately and commit to the full project duration (2-5 months).

Requirements:
Education/Experience

Extensive knowledge of building codes and general engineering principles.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information.

Maintain regulatory permits for DOT-PHMSA, FDEP, FDOH, FL SERC, USEPA, USEPA-FIFRA, and Pinellas County Industrial Pretreatment Program,
Must be available to be on call
