The Opportunity
In this role, you will provide support, leadership, and direction in the implementation and monitoring of safety and health programs in the Company's retail store operations. This role provides hands-on oversight and interaction with the Company's retail store operations, to include safety and health and sanitation requirements. This role will be responsible for overseeing retail store operations in specified geographic areas of the country.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
In a field support role, engage in on-site training; auditing; site assessments; store support of safety and health initiatives.
Evaluate store environments against OSHA and industry-specific health and safety requirements and guidelines. Work to improve Associate health and safety processes in retail store environments. Enforce compliance with OSHA and Company standards.
Partner with retail store operations in conducting training and auditing programs concerning environmental, health and safety.
Partners with pricing and other compliance depts to support the leadership team and retail locations.
Provide leadership to store operations field leaders on regulatory processes and procedures for assigned areas. Seek and analyze situations or conditions with potential regulatory implications.
Provide data and guidance to ZVP's on weekly calls and support as needed.
Document EH&S issues and follow prescribed processes and protocol to identify solutions in retail store operations.
Demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge in hazard recognition, evaluation, and control, and serve as safety subject matter expert to field leadership.
Provide support on store requests for safety and health assistance and responses to regulatory visits or internal audit findings.
Represent the Company by interfacing with government regulatory agencies and work to resolve regulatory issues and risk mitigation of future issues. Ensure stores follow-up on environmental, health and safety compliance opportunities.
Serve as a contact for government and outside entities such as OSHA and the Food and Drug Administration.
Provide additional support to field leadership, the SSC team and legal and compliance on as needed basis.
Report to Director, Environmental, Health and Safety Field Compliance (Store Operations) on field compliance with Company safety and health policies, deploy training and resources as needed.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Safety, Law, Human Resources, or Environmental.
5 years' experience in Safety, Human Resources, Asset Protection, or Environmental.
Knowledge of OSHA standards, guidelines; and EH&S processes; regulatory inspection processes.
Strong people skills; the ability to quickly develop relationships and communicate with multiple internal and external business partners.
Strong training and auditing background.
Strong presentation skills.
Analytical thinking and problem solving; able to creatively solve problems, innovative approaches where required with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices related to health and safety compliance.
Detail-oriented and coordination of multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Ability to work flexible schedule.
Travel approximately 50%-70%.

Summary

The twin 45' diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.

What you will be doing
Identifies, documents and resolves onsite safety risks or discrepancies during daily site walks. Documents Daily Hazard Analysis (DHA) using Company prescribed procedures and software.
Evaluates and identifies all safety equipment needs for project work. Participates in daily and weekly meetings to ensure all necessary equipment is ordered, stocked and available for upcoming work.
Assists in investigations and reporting regarding accidents, injuries or illnesses, fire, property damage and other safety related incidents to ensure timely and compliant resolutions. Recommends improvements based on performed trend analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and conduct safety training programs in compliance with OSHA, VOSH, EPA, and NFPA.

* Deliver training on a wide range of topics, including defensive driving, CPR/AED, forklift operation, and confined space safety.
* Administer and maintain the learning management system (LMS), ensuring accurate training records.

* Lead train-the-trainer sessions and develop multimedia content for virtual and classroom environments.
The purpose of the class, under limited supervision is to develop, coordinate, administer and conduct training for a comprehensive operational program for the City of Hampton and Hampton City Schools.
Minimum Requirements
* Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field directly related to occupational health and safety or public sector regulatory compliance.
* Two (2) years of experience in developing, writing, and managing organizational training programs, developing training material, and/or presenting training. Demonstrates progressively responsible experience in developing and managing workforce training plans. Must know what is current and relevant in the training realm.
* Two (2) years of experience in training occupational health and safety programs.
* One (1) year of experience in virtual learning environments. Knowledge of adult learning techniques, training design and delivery, and change management with a demonstrated ability to conduct training needs assessments.
* A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
* Must successfully pass a background check before any offer of employment or promotion.
* Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria.
* This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances under the City's current substance abuse policy.
Additional Requirements
* Two (2) years' experience working with municipal government, understanding of interdepartmental relationships experience preferred.
* Experience in project management is preferred.

The Role
Plans, organizes and manages the fire protection engineering function under senior management direction. Responsible for directing all activities associated with fire protection engineering, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive program to ensure effective monitoring of each operating site's activities to assess fire protection and life safety implications. AMP is hiring an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist (EHS) on site in Portsmouth, Virginia.
As our Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist (EHS) you will be responsible for assisting the EHS Specialist in creating and enforcing a culture of safety within our organization and jointly implement programs, policies, and assessments to enable our zero-incident workspace goal.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist with a standardized review process of accidents and incidents with attention to assisting with root cause, corrective actions, and reporting.
Contribute to and implement the Environmental, Health and Safety Curriculums and Plans.
Coordinate and instruct training program material in general safety and OSHA safety and facility training.
Coordinate with the EHS Specialist and facility management personnel on facility deficiencies and periodic safety inspections.
Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies are minimized and corrected.
Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and update as needed Standard Operating Guidelines for all safe work practices and equipment and support their use in day-to-day operations.
Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety.
Monitor industry regulatory issues.
Participate in institutional professional development and training.
Participate in the development of safety guidelines and related health, safety, and environmental communications and education information.
Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
Provide advice, assistance, and direction to ensure that an effective health, safety, and environmental culture is implemented and working.
Provide daily guidance and direction in health, safety, and environmental programs at the employee and supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
Responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and its applications and help support the compliance process.
Coordinate and lead safety committees.
Support facility growth and expansion:
Air permitting
Land-use permitting
CO permitting
Recycling/ Waste minimization activities
Regulatory issues
Safety equipment
Support certification activities including but not limited to ISO and OSHA.
Handle confidential information.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

5+ years of relevant experience
Basic math and statistical skills.
Working knowledge of Federal/ State Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
