Incident Investigation - In accordance with Global standards, investigates most incidents to assess and discover the cause of the incident. Actively engages with first line managers to ensure mitigation procedures are implemented.
Conduct emergency response drills for various scenarios (fire/spill) and drive closure of corrective actions as required.
Contacts and Relationships:
Interfaces with other department personnel in the corporate office, administration, and plant locations, as necessary.

Contribute to process safety culture development by promoting awareness and best practices across sites and project teams.
Track and report on project progress, key performance indicators, and budget adherence, escalating risks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety.
Bachelors in engineering, safety or related field preferred.
Experience with development of written PSM programs, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), including Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard Operability (HazOp), Mechanical Integrity (MI) evaluations, change management and operational readiness reviews, etc.
Experience working in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
Experience facilitating or leading multidisciplinary workshops (HAZOP, LOPA).
Proficiency in risk analysis tools (PHA-Pro, BowTieXP, etc.) considered an asset.

Lead and manage all aspects of Environmental Health and Safety for Ocugen's Malvern, PA location.
Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs tailored to a biotech R&D and GxP-regulated environment.
Provide EHS support for facilities planning, office/lab expansions, equipment installations, and related construction activities.
Ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (e.g., JHA, chemical safety reviews), and safety reviews for lab equipment and processes.
Manage incident investigations, root cause analyses, and timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Annual site chemical inventory reporting and safety data sheet management
Oversee universal and hazardous waste disposal
Coordinate training programs and onboarding related to safety, emergency preparedness, biosafety, hazardous waste, and ergonomics.
Support permitting, documentation, and reporting requirements, including hazardous waste and environmental impact filings.
Lead internal safety inspections, emergency response drills, and vendor/contractor safety reviews.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable U.S. regulatory frameworks.
