Preferred Education/Experience:

5+ years of experience developing and leading comprehensive and robust engineering or chemical laboratory EH&S programs and processes or other similar technical programs.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Connecticutand local regulations.
Strong communication and influencing skills, action oriented, self starting, analytical and strategic thinking, relationship building, program development and project management skills, ability to operate in a complex environment, ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
Expertise in these areas would be a plus:
Implementing safety programs targeted to field operations in mining environments.
Familiarity with “Mine Safety” programs and hazard risk assessments.
Ability to provide requisite safe handling training to employees involved in the handling of industrial process chemicals and minerals processing (flotation separation).

Strong SDS management skills and chemical laboratory experience.

Competitive compensation package of $80,000 - $95,000
Benefits include:
Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

Duties:
+ Provides classroom and on-vehicle training to new employees, and retraining to existing employees, including retraining as part of disciplinary and performance management efforts
+ Investigates training and safety problems with drivers w/ F endorsement; offers solutions
+ Analyze DriveCam and other performance data to identify training needs and trends.
+ Prepare reports for senior leadership on training outcomes, compliance status, and workforce readiness.
+ Administers the fleet safety program at the location, making sure that it is consistent with Transdev safety policy and procedures
+ Administers Workers' Compensation program at location, coordinating with Transdev contracted Workers' Compensation Administrator
+ Audits accident data to identify trends and accidents that can be prevented with improved Serves as the central point of information and data for safety and training activity at the location, including maintaining data on trainees, licenses, drug and alcohol program (DER), and other training activity (i.e. OSHA), as well as safety data and trends
+ Maintains driver, and other safety-sensitive employees, qualifications files
+ Performs other duties as required
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required
+ Bachelor's Degree in business, logistics, or related field of study is preferred
+ Experience with FTA Drug and Alcohol and ADA Paratransit regulations
+ 3-5 years of operations experience in a safety-sensitive environment inclusive of OSHA, MIS, FMSCA, FTA, DOT and other federal compliance experience
+ 5+ years of previous supervisory experience
+ Proven adult classroom instructor experience. Experience developing training syllabus a plus
+ Superior communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
+ Must be able to pass third-party tester certification within ninety (90) days of employment, if necessary
+ Ability to use standard PC workstation and facility with use of all MS Office applications required; general knowledge of database technology preferred
+ Knowledge of Web Risk, Trapeze, Lytx, Geotab, PowerBi or similar computerized reporting systems preferred
+ Must possess ability to lead and motivate associates
+ Proven customer service and interpersonal skills a must
+ Must be a team-players and possess the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups
+ Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all transportation regulations that impact PGT's daily operations and effectively communicate current DOT and PGT rules/guidelines to staff and drivers.
Analyze and evaluate any new laws, regulations, changes, or interpretations that may impact PGT's business practices.
Conduct regular assessments of PGT terminal locations to evaluate their operations and enforce PGT's safety policies and regulations.
Build relationships with PGT customers and visit customer locations and job sites to confirm the safe loading/unloading of commodities.
Provide support and guidance to PGT drivers, ensuring compliance with all DOT and PGT rules and regulations.
Review load securement photos by phone and inspect vehicles and trailers for any potential DOT violations.
Coach PGT drivers through performance improvement plans, prioritizing the safety of PGT drivers, customers, and the general public.

Essential Functions
Maintain a safe working environment and ensure personal safe working practices by all employees
