Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) / Risk Services (RSS) is a unit within ANR that provides occupational safety, environmental compliance, and risk management activities to ANR academics, staff, volunteers, and program participants. This requires consultation, communication, training, auditing, claims management, risk assessment and mitigation support for all programs and units in ANR statewide. The Director of RSS reports to the Director of Facilities Planning and Management, reporting up to the ANR Associate Vice President for Administrative Services
This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.
The home department for this position is EH&S / Risk Services. While this position normally is based in Davis, CA, this position is eligible for hybrid flexible work arrangements for applicants living in the State of California at this time. Please note that hybrid flexible work arrangements are subject to change by the University.
Pay Scale: $26.82/hour to $36.49/hour

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The EHS Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures, along with conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Evaluates hazards within the facility for safety, health, and environmental risks.

well as industrial health monitoring and records of employee hazard exposure according to OSHA
regulations.
· Monitors professional literature and attends seminars to stay current with governmental compliance
requirements.
· Supervises Workers Compensation Analyst and seasonal first aid attendants, and Security.
· Responsible for Government report for BLS, OSHA and Title V.
· Represent employer on regulatory inspections.
· Manage safety and security budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven experience as a safety manager.
· Deep understanding of local health and safety guidelines

Under the general direction of a UC Police Department Police Sergeant, a successful CSS will work closely with the public and University units to proactively identify and solve community safety issues and security concerns on campus. Respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Reporting to the Safety and Compliance Manager, the Rail Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for driving safety and health management throughout the rail organization through development and reinforcement of “best practice” operating procedures. This position will support Drummac, as directed by the Safety and Compliance Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in administering Drummac's training and development programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory safety requirements.
Works closely with Safety, Compliance and Operations management to develop pertinent on-the-job or other “value-added” training appropriate to the needs of each business unit they support.
Works in collaboration with Human Resources and Safety training departments to implement New Hire Orientation.
Assists with the developing, updating and maintaining of the Corporate Health and Safety Manual, as well as other departmental programs and standard operating procedures (SOP).
Creates site-specific Health and Safety Plans per client request or project requirements.
Performs hazard evaluations of jobsites, tasks and chemicals including creating a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and assisting with proper PPE selection.
Reviews and analyzes job-specific worksheets, JHAs, and other paperwork to complete a gap analyses

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

+ Ensure site compliance with specified SOH requirements, Federal, state and OSHA regulations and all aspects of the APP/SSHP including, but not limited to, activity hazard analyses, sound monitoring, use of PPE, site controls, standard operating procedures used to minimize hazards, safe use of engineering controls, the emergency response plan, confined space entry procedures (as required), spill containment program, and preparation of records by performing a daily safety inspection and documenting results on the Daily Safety Inspection Log.
+ Have an expert knowledge of EM-385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926.16.
+ Receive oversee and develop Activity Hazard Analysis forms for all definable features of work.
+ Conduct daily safety inspections and document findings into the Daily Safety Inspection Log. Track noted safety deficiencies to ensure that they are corrected.
+ Oversee daily safety briefs and prior to starting work, to include toolbox talks and briefing of daily applicable AHAs.
+ Oversee weekly review of upcoming AHAs with client to ensure alignment prior to start of work activity.
+ Confirm adherence to all Infection Control and Interim Life Safety protocols, including inspections on barriers, HEPA equipment, dust/dirt mitigation into the Medical Clinic and directional signage.
+ Provide ongoing evaluation of hazardous conditions. Consult with the Site Superintendent, and the Contracting Officer to coordinate for any modifications to the accepted APP/SSHP and evaluate as the solution is implemented.
+ Schedule, coordinate and deliver weekly safety training/briefings to the workforce or procure weekly safety documentation from trade companies. Maintain training documentation and attendance records.
+ Investigate property damage and personal injury accidents to determine cause and methods to prevent recurrence.
+ Conduct accident investigations and prepare incident and accident reports for review by Management and as required by OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
