JOB SUMMARY:
The Health Manager is responsible for the for the overall operation of the medical and dental health services as outlined in Head Start Performance Standards/Act and Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Participate and assist in the development of comprehensive program plans and grant applications including program, on-going, monitoring, program self-assessment, and Program Information Report.
* Provide health related trainings in accordance to Community Care Licensing and Head Start Performance standards during pre-service and as requested.
* Develop a comprehensive Health Service Area Plan with yearly updates, including but not limited to providing families with necessary resources and skills to access an ongoing health care system in order to ensure continued comprehensive health and nutrition care services for the child after leaving the program
* Know current pediatric periodicity schedules (EPSDT), dental periodicity schedules, and immunization recommendations and requirements, and understand screening, assessment, and examination results, and immunization recommendations and requirements, and understand screening, assessment, and examination results
* Prepares annual Immunization Program and Program Information Report as required for Head Start, State or local/agency regulations.
* Be aware that maternal and family health and wellness beginning with preconception influence health across the lifespan
* Be familiar with early childhood developmental milestones including cognitive, motor, language, and social and emotional
* Be aware of changes in health care delivery systems (e.g., eligibility, provider participation, covered services)
* Plan and oversee ongoing training to meet programmatic health and safety requirements.
* Assure staff implement health and safety practices including daily health checks.
* For enrolled pregnant women, develop a plan for the two-week newborn visit to offer support and identify family needs.
* Implement and inform staff and families about safe sleep practices for infants.
* Use data to plan, implement, and evaluate health services
* Promote early intervention and preventative health services.
* Report program-level health information to meet program, federal, tribal, and state requirements and requests, including the Head Start Program Information Report (PIR)
* Demonstrate responsive program management practices (e.g., collaboration, communication, meeting facilitation)
* Develop, disseminate, review, and update program health and safety policies and procedures
* Conduct ongoing monitoring activities, in centers, family child care homes and home base groups, to assure healthy and safe program practices and implement improvements as needed
* Maintain a state of readiness to address the needs of children, families, and staff that cover the three phases of an emergency: preparedness, response, and recovery
* Assist families and staff to increase their health literacy
* Maintain a Health Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) that includes engaged Head Start families, health professionals, program staff, and other community volunteers
* Collect and use child and family health history, including current health needs, to help children and families achieve optimal wellness
* Generate in-kind through health services donations of goods and/or services.
* Review, evaluate and interpret health records and other vital health service data with parents and staff.
* Develop Individualized Health Plans (IHP).
* Follow up on referrals and IHP's in a timely manner.
* Develop, monitor, and conduct screening of enrolled children, i.e., vision, hearing, dental and lead.
* Provide training and technical assistance in the development and implementation of monitoring action plans.
* Promote advocacy for child health by participating in health related committees within the county.
* Identify and utilize state and local resources for health services within the program.
* Develop and present health education and promotion programs, such as training workshops, conferences, and school or community presentations.
* Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with agencies and organizations interested in public health care.
* Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in health science or related field in nursing or health education from an accredited institution of higher education.
AND
* Two years' work experience working with children and families in a medical environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
* Travel and attend out of area meetings and conferences as required per the funding source(s).
* Work variable hours and days, including those outside regular Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours.
* Meet and maintain KCAO hiring requirements which include:

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Safety Specialist reports directly to the Safety Director. WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Maintains thorough working knowledge of S&S Activewear policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and company safety guidelines to ensure injuries are prevented and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
* Maintain and analyze safety data for trends, deficiencies, or improvements and formulate a plan to address and communicate with leadership.
* Perform and review incident investigations for all incidents and near misses.
* Review and manage workers compensation case management.
* Perform documented safety inspections and safety observations.

The Safety Inspector for Wilson is responsible for ensuring work site compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local safety regulations as well as all elements of the Wilson safety program. • Attend morning tailboard meetings and be prepared to cover daily safety topics. Discuss job site, incidents near misses and good catches.

• Perform a minimum of one safety audit per crew using the iAuditor app. Audits shall include a thorough survey of site conditions, and analysis of potential hazards being encountered, and a determination of the kind and extent of safeguards necessary to accomplish the work in a safe manner and/or as appropriate.
• Implement immediate corrective action whenever noncompliance with the safety program or Federal, State or local laws or regulations is found.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and use of HPI principles and the safety performance of field employees and provide guidance and training where needed to improve performance and safety.
• Review audit results with General Foremen and foremen and on a periodic basis review accident, near-misses, disciplinary actions taken, and safety suggestions offered from the field.
• Conduct safety orientations and training for new employees and former employees returning to the Company after an extended absence.
• Coordinate new hire drug testing.
• Administer the fall protection program and fit testing where applicable.
• Administer employee-training.
• Ensure that employee's operating Wilson equipment have the required certificates.
• Review Wilson's truck/equipment safety inspection reports ( Zonar, DVIR's).
• Investigate all incidents and near miss reports and file reports as required.
• Make available all necessary personal protective equipment, job safety materials, first aid supplies, and emergency information.
• Meet with Wilson management on periodic basis to discuss accidents and accident trends, employee safety performance, safety suggestions from the field, ways and means of improving the effectiveness of the safety program, and the scheduled training programs.
Safety Inspector Requirements:
• A minimum of five years' experience supporting or leading safety programs.
• A minimum of three years' experience in the industry they are responsible for overseeing. This experience must be in the high voltage electrical transmission and distribution trade.
• Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) with a background in Electric transmission and Distribution utility services.
• Working knowledge of state and federal OSHA laws and regulations.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Must be able to work outside and travel.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff and personality types.
• Desire and ability to learn the technical aspects of our industry.

Our Azteca Milling Division in Madera, CA is seeking an active Safety Manager to lead all aspects of the health and safety program at this location. This includes but is not limited to: * Manages all aspects of the plant health and safety program. * Promotes an incident-free work environment by developing programs to ensure a safe workplace.
* Conduct and review all incident/accident investigations while monitoring workers' compensation claims to assist in their rapid closure.
* Advise management regarding the necessary safety and health information, along with any new regulatory requirements. Stay updated on state and federal laws, directives, standards, and codes dealing with employee safety and health.
* Perform regular facility inspections to identify potential hazards individually and with the management team.
* Prepare, schedule, and conduct safety training sessions on various safety-related topics.
* Act as liaison between insurance carriers, state and federal agencies, and emergency services regarding safety and health.
* Prepares and maintains monthly statistical reports on safety performance and activities. Maintains the OSHA 300 log.
* Identifies potential health and physical hazards with the aid of medical providers and loss control representatives.
* Consult with plant managers and the purchasing department on plans for proposed changes in processes, equipment, and methods to meet safety and health standards. Coordinate requirements for insurance coverage for outside contractor services.
* Prepare annual Safety Department budget.
* Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, Safety Engineering or related field required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Safety, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
* Willingness to work on a regular basis in Madera, CA.
* Working knowledge of federal and/or state-level government regulations (i.e., EPA, OSHA, etc.)
* Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (federal and state) and apply them to the workplace.
