ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Assist in planning, development, implementation, and ongoing management of association-wide risk identification, prevention and mitigation efforts. * Coordinate and support safety training programs to ensure compliance with YMCA policies, insurance requirements, and American Red Cross training standards. * Monitor, track and maintain accurate records of required safety trainings and certifications. * Support the development of risk management policies and training materials to promote consistent safety practices across association. * Conduct regular site visits to include safety audits and inspections. * Utilize designated systems and platforms to manage training schedules, incident tracking, background checks, and risk-related data while maintaining confidentiality. * Communicate clearly and professionally with staff at all levels of organization to reinforce a culture of safety. * Support volunteer department in volunteer onboarding and compliance; ensuring volunteers meet all association and risk management requirements prior to and throughout service. * Coordinates scheduling and training of CPR Instructors to provide proper certification delivery. * Serves as main point of contact and resource for all staff in matters relating to all CPR training. * Facilitates a minimum of 1 CPR class per quarter at various YMCA locations. This may include some night and weekend classes. * Facilitates a minimum of 2 CPR Instructor courses, to certify new instructors annually. * Listens with the intent to understand the perspective of others by using appropriate communications & methods, including open-ended questions. Manages classroom environment and adapts instructional style depending on the audience. * Facilitates learning through classroom instruction, webinars, and virtual and blended learning, incorporates a variety of presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles. * Other duties as assigned by supervisor. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: * Inclusion * Critical Thinking & Decision Making * Emotional Maturity QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or GED preferred; must be at least 21 years of age. * Prior experience providing instruction, training, or coaching others preferred. * Current American Red Cross CPR certification required, including any credentials mandated by state law for courses taught; proof of certification required. * American Red Cross CPR Instructor Trainer certification required within 365 days of hire. * Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly and effectively present course material to diverse audiences. * Proficiency in basic computer skills, including word processing (minimum 45 wpm), Microsoft Office Suite, and use of online, web-based training platforms. * Ability to maintain the physical and mental readiness required to deliver certification-level instruction. * Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse social and economic backgrounds. * Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. * Valid Texas driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel to multiple locations within the greater San Antonio metropolitan area. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. * Visual acuity is required for reading computer screens and/or documents and making changes as necessary/required. * This position requires analytical abilities and multitasking in order to identify problems and recommend solutions. Job requires accuracy and attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills, while maintaining high levels of initiative in order to work within deadlines. * Occasional stooping and bending with regular lifting of up to 20 pounds is required. * Incumbent must be able to stand for long periods of time, as well as be able to use keyboards, telephone keypads, and writing utensils. * Uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
