Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 5-8 years of QA experience in food manufacturing with responsibility for plant-level food safety systems.
Demonstrated experience hosting or leading USDA/FSIS audits.
Proven success in people leadership, coaching, and development.
HACCP certification and PCQI credential.
Knowledge of GFSI schemes (SQF/BRCGS), FSMA, 9 CFR, GMPs, sanitation standards, CAPA, statistical process control, and environmental monitoring.
Proficiency with documentation systems, quality analytics, and standard office software.
Preferred

A typical day looks like:
Completing in-house site inspections, fire drills, and training as required
Maintaining and auditing all safety-related paperwork required by project owner for IX-related activities as well as coordinating submissions required from all subcontractors.

Developing, implementing, and enforcing site-specific health and safety plans
Assisting in coordinating industrial hygiene compliance on job sites
Conducting safety and compliance inspections on projects, shops, yards, and offices
Assisting in monitoring safety programs, including safety inspections, investigations, and safety training. Be knowledgeable of current NFPA and OSHA standards
Responsible for basic administrative tasks including organization of job and employee files as well as assembling necessary training materials for site employees and subcontractors
Assisting the Safety Managers with external safety-related inspections, following up on required corrective action when warranted
Ensuring the company's vehicles and equipment are inspected regularly and have all necessary insurance and accident reporting information, and emergency kits, and meet safety requirements (e.g. tires, lights, etc.). Ensuring that companies drivers are valid driver's according to company policy
Asbestos and Environmental experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
Manage and coordinate day to day operations of the fire safety program, fire safety complex, mobile training units and remote facilities in accordance to established policies and procedures. Consult with industry experts to keep current on new techniques, trending methods, skills, technology, and state required certifications. Manage and instruct the state certification courses and process to include incorporating industry standards in course curriculum. Serve as the primary logistics contact for all who utilize the fire training grounds. This position plays an integral part in ensuring all state mandated certifications and requirements are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Create and manage the distribution, application and adherence of policy and procedure by faculty and CTED contract instructors during their operations within the fire science program.
* Develop and maintain relationships with state certifying agencies, industry, and community partners.
* Research and evaluate emerging best practices and new technology relative to current and future training within the Fire Science program. Manage and facilitate inclusion of practices and technology into course content and activities with current and incoming instructing personnel, to also include documented course outcomes, instructional strategies, and development of course shells.
* Develop and maintain state required curriculum for students to earn and maintain active Firefighter status.
* Mentor and provide development to all Fire Science Part-Time Faculty and staff.
* Maintain a flexible schedule to manage the organization and scheduling of state certification courses and instructors.
* Create a process for continued evaluation of instructional courses district wide to ensure the compliance of instructors, training facilities, enrollment capacity and successful state testing certification standards are being met or exceeded.
* Oversee the state certification process for all fire science students, continue evaluation of full-time and part-time instructors to ensure successful state exam completion, complete paperwork to certify students and provide a state certification summary for each student who takes the test.
* Proctor state certification exams and ensure we meet or exceed the state IFSAC requirements. Manage and ensure all instructor certification renewals are maintained and updated per state requirements.
* Manage the logistics of all equipment being requested for training and education within the NWTC District. Ensure the safe operations of all equipment and facilities as required by state, industry, and OSHA standards.
* Manage maintenance and inspection of all fire apparatus and equipment, testing of fire pumps and aerial devices, ground ladders, SCBA and ensure the compliance of NFPA and WI SPS 330 required by the state. Conduct fit tests for both students and instructors.
* Assist in the development of the vision and direction regarding departments capital and operational budget planning for the Fire Science Department, including research with vendors, negotiating prices of new vehicles, equipment, and structures.
* Manage annual WTCS Fire AFG Grant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
* Associate Degree in Fire Science or related field.
* Five years of related experience as a professional or volunteer in fire service.
* Microsoft Office Suite and database information systems.
* Class A CDL, Combination Vehicle endorsement
* Certified in the State of Wisconsin as a Fire Officer Level 1, Firefighter Level 2, Driver-Operator Pumper and Aerial. Certified in Hazardous Materials Operations.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:
All health district employees have an emergency response role and may be expected to respond to threats to the public's health in accordance with the Lake County General Health District and Geauga Public Health Emergency Response Plan;
Performs other duties as assigned consistent with position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Environmental Health or other related degree enabling qualification as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist / Registered Environmental Health Specialist in Training;
Incumbent must maintain registration and licensure to maintain employment;
Must have and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record;

Essential Functions:
Maintain and administer the Food Safety and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs
Oversee, maintain, revise, ensuring compliance, and initiate continuous improvement for all policies, procedures and programs relating to food safety. This includes, but not limited to:
Regulatory compliance
HACCP Plan and prerequisite programs
Food Defense
Pest Control
Crisis Management
Allergen Control
Recall and Traceability
Supplier Certification (includes raw/finished product and packaging)
Training - general Food Safety and job specific Food Safety training
Personal Hygiene and compliance to corporate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Provide direction to Facility/Maintenance and processing Managers to ensure all Maintenance, Sanitation, and Chemical Control activities adhere to published food safety requirements
Ensure all personnel adhere to published food safety requirements regarding all operational activities for distribution and processing.
Perform documented random and/or scheduled internal audits and inspections of the facility to verify adherence to Food Safety policies and provide corrective action on non-compliances
Maintain document control for all food safety related programs and procedures
Respond, record, investigate, provide corrective action, and trend customer complaints related to food safety and provide data to the various Procurement Departments
Own third-party audits and inspections (regulatory, organic, etc.) and provide insight on corrective action on non-compliances
Respond to customer requests related to third-party audits, food safety, and compliance
Provide expertise and assist in areas, such as product development, product layout and equipment purchasing
Maintain organized, written employee training, and safety investigation records in coordination with Human Resources and Management
Implement and maintain quality assurance/food safety program for Christine Cuts.
Manage Quality Assurance Technicians in Christine Cuts and review all documentation to ensure compliance
Perform pre-operational inspections of processing
Competencies, Experience, and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field required
At least 3+ years Food Science and/or Food Safety function, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance within a food manufacturing or processing environment
Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems.
Completed training in HACCP, SQF Auditing Systems, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

Compensation:
$68,000 - $70,000/year
