This salary exempt position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Safety. Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the facility health and safety program. This will include, but is not limited to, training, sampling, monitoring, site inspections, accident investigations, accident prevention, liaison with governmental agencies, record keeping, workmen's compensation, recommendations for continual improvement and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Review and interpret health, safety and environmental laws, rules and regulations
Development, implementation and monitoring of, but not limited to, the following training: new miner, newly hired experienced miner, task, annual refresher and hazard communication
Development, implementation and monitoring of site inspections and corrective action programs. Must coordinate team efforts to solve problems and implement required actions. Must maintain appropriate administrative documentation for these programs
Coordination of accident investigations and accident reports. Develop, analyze, and report facility statistics and make recommendations to key management personnel
Conduct workmen's compensation related accident investigations
Collect and distribute appropriate statistical information regarding safety for the facility and for appropriate governmental agencies (MSHA, OSHA, etc.)
Write policies that achieve governing agency compliance and are applicable to the operation
Administer facility substance abuse testing programs for both salaried and hourly personnel. Maintain appropriate records and provide reports as required

Bachelor of Science degree in Safety and Health, Engineering or a related technical field
A minimum of seven (7) years' experience of manufacturing safety management. (Experience in a mining operation preferred.)
Detailed working knowledge of MSHA and/or OSHA regulations, policies, and procedures
Solid computer skills; must be capable of working with common business software (word processing, spreadsheets, emails, etc.) effectively
Analytical and strategic planning. Must be capable of handling numerous projects concurrently

Primary Responsibilities
The Warehouse Safety Specialist will support our warehouse safety and compliance programs within the Distribution Center. The Warehouse Safety Specialist is an extension of our management team and the core focus is to ensure the appropriate processes and protocols are in place to maintain the company's safety philosophy and culture. Essential Functions
* Foster a "safety culture" by engaging personnel at all levels and drive the success of safety initiatives.
* Coordinate the new hire orientation and onboarding process as it relates to safety and compliance.
* Champion KeHE's Harm-to-None (H2O) Program by promoting "all accidents are preventable".
* Partner with warehouse operations to ensure in-depth injury investigations are conducted.
* Partner with local HR Business Partner to facilitate post-accident Root Cause Analysis identifying corrective & preventative actions.
* Ensure all employees/new hires have been trained on company Safety Rules and Regulations and conducts all MHE/PIT Operator training and certifications.
* Facilitate safety committee meetings and review incident/accident trends and safety opportunities.
* Coordinate regular safety training requirements and record trainings to ensure compliance with county, state and federal regulations .
* Assist and train Operations Management to ensure post incident/accident procedures are followed.
* Lead Accident Reporting & Treatment (ART) packet on all post incidents/accidents at the facility with Human Resources Business Partner and the Operations Management team.
* Serve as a local resource for safety issues, as well as conduct all safety meetings and annual audits.
* Regularly review Job Safety Analysis for accuracy and provide refresher training as needed.
* Report all incidents/accidents/risk to Director of Operations and HR Business Partner.

This role is ideal for a safety professional who has built a safety program from the ground up, written policies, SOPs, and training programs. A successful candidate will be able to secure buy-in from the executive team, managers and employees. They will also need to be influential, and effective, both in person and virtual settings. Driver safety training experience is preferred, with a focus on driver safety programs, policies, and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety Program Development and Implementation:

Job Description:
U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking a Safety Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting plant leadership in driving and creating a safe work environment for the facility. The candidate must be relocatable to Birmingham, Alabama.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develops and implements a system to monitor, evaluate and revise both site safety programs on an annual basis with special attention to the High-Risk Programs (LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, and Fall Protection) to ensure the safest work environment possible that is also compliant with all laws and regulations.
Facilitates plant housekeeping audits.
Performs Ergonomic assessment of plants and writes plans to reduce issues found in assessments.
Develops appropriate processes, conducts, and facilitates effective incident investigation activities and follow-up on “near-miss” events, property damage, and injuries.
Schedules, tracks, and ensures timely implementation of all Plant-wide regulatory required safety training.
Develops Safety Training Matrix.
Develops and implements effective systems for safety orientation for new and transferred employees as well as contractors.
Leads development and implementation of training.
Coordinates safety/Industrial Hygiene monitoring as required.
Responsible for PPE assessments for all jobs and effective communication of requirements.
Monitor ongoing compliance.
Oversees the Worker's Compensation program at plant level including reporting, reserve management, ongoing monitoring, restricted duty management and collaborate with the Occupational Nurse Manager on the medical management of claimants.
Maintains an effective communication process for all safety related functions including clear processes for emergency response, injury and near miss situations.
Leads and coordinates various safety meetings.
Skills & Other Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Safety or Environmental is preferred, but not required.
The status of a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred, but not required.
5-7 years of safety and environmental experience outlining and implementing programs regarding employee safety procedures, practices, and accident protection and prevention in a heavy manufacturing industry.
At least 2-4 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role as a safety professional.
Proven leadership others and self-direction is required.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Familiar with the operating characteristics of material handling equipment, crane operation, and capabilities.
Ability to supervise others and facilitate teamwork.
Familiar with OSHA regulations, personal protection equipment.
Familiar with developing and implementing safety programs and policies.
Strong knowledge of hazardous materials.
Familiar with safe practices and MSDS information.
Familiar with a variety of industrial safety concepts, practices, and procedures.
Strong knowledge of inspecting company facilities and recommending corrective actions to ensure compliance with established OSHA and EPA industry regulations.
Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
Bilingual is a highly preferred skill (English and Spanish)
