Under limited supervision, the Safety Specialist will implement and administer all aspects of the corporate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program and the site-specific safety program for assigned area or responsibility.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

We are seeking a Safety Champ to partner with the Safety team and champion a culture of safety across the production floor. This 6-month rotational role provides employees with the opportunity to deepen safety knowledge, support inspections, and promote best practices. The Safety Champ will work side-by-side with Safety and Operations leaders to reinforce safe behaviors, educate team members on proper equipment use, and identify opportunities to reduce workplace risk. Safety Champ helps local CI team to improve 5S/Safety of assigned area and is a point of contact for peers to raise awareness and communicate 5S/Safety needs.
Accountabilities:
Serves as an active member of the site Safety Committee, led by the Safety team.
Monitors safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and eyewash stations to ensure inspections are performed on schedule.
Monitors and educates team members on proper use of tools, including guarding and technique.
Promotes a strong safety culture across the plant.
Trains team members on proper use of equipment and PPE.
Performs safety breaks to help improve overall plant safety awareness.
Identifies improvements in work areas to reduce safety risk.
Provides feedback and guidance in a collaborative and respectful manner.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Performs, documents, and records environmental sampling utilizing tools like a dosimeter, light meter, multi-gas meter, etc.
Coordinates emergency response, provides care for injured employees, performs incident investigation, conducts interviews, compiles information and photographs, completes incident reports, participates in incident review process, tracks progress on recommended corrective actions, and develops lessons learned to be shared.
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor's degree in environmental, health, safety
High school diploma or equivalent w/ experience.

5 years of relevant experience w/ high school diploma or equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

Job Summary
A Project HSE Manager is an integral member of a project team and they are highly dedicated to the health and well-being of others. In addition to serving as a safety resource for their teammates, their main function is to facilitate Sundt HS&E programs. This position will need to be mobile around the Intermountain Region (ID, MT, UT).
This position includes three 'steps' (I, II and Sr.), which provide for a progression of skill and experience. Step I is the entry level for individuals with a short experience in safety and they typically report to another Project HSE Manager. Individuals in step II have the capability of managing small to medium size/complexity projects on their own. Sr Project HSE Managers have several years of experience and the ability to manage larger and more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conducts frequent safety walks/inspections of the project and adjacent property.
2. Conducts site-specific safety orientations.
3. Creates, updates, maintains, and facilitates the Project Environmental Management Plan.
4. Creates, updates, maintains, and facilitates the Project Safety Management Plan.
5. Facilitates the Sundt Safety Management and Illness Prevention Systems Manual on the project.
6. Manages emergencies, incidents, and worker's compensation claims.
7. Reviews and files project safety documentation.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. Certifications and licenses: Preferred, but not required- STSC, CHST, ASP, CSP.
2. Education: high school diploma minimum, bachelor's degree preferred.
3. Experience: At least five plus (5+) years' of full-time heavy civil project safety experience.
4. Good written and verbal communication (proper grammar, spelling, etc.
5. High level of integrity for reporting incidents and events, as well as upholding company policy, personal activities, etc.
6. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
7. Special skills: able to use various computer software and apps proficiently, bi-lingual preferred .

Summary
