Strong working knowledge of MSHA and OSHA requirements and how they apply in dynamic construction environments. Hands on experience with hazard recognition, auditing, incident investigation, and corrective action management. Proficiency reviewing task planning tools and high risk work controls, such as energy isolation, confined space, working at heights, hot work, and atmosphere testing. Confident, credible presence in the field with a coaching mindset and the ability to influence both craft workers and supervisors. Current MSHA and or OSHA training and a safety related credential or equivalent field based training.     Job Description This position is responsible for implementing and managing the safety policies and procedures put in place. This role will work as part of a team developing, implementing, and evaluating safety policies and programs across the organization. **This is a Split Shift 5 days a week (i.e. 11 am - 8 pm or 12 pm - 9 pm) Accountabilities: Works with Safety Managers in developing and implementation of safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Drives continuous safety improvement through best management practices using leading and trailing indicators. Facilitates the workers' compensation claims process including initial entering of claim; assisting in the investigation; communicating with employees, adjusters, and investigators; and processing documents pertaining to the incident and claim. Facilitate onboarding of new employees and various classroom and hands-on training. May also lead weekly all-hands safety meeting. Understands local air permitting requirements as well as monitors, records and maintains applicable supporting documentation Assists in the completion of OSHA required reports as well as company KPI tracking and reporting. Conducts weekly walk-arounds and observations as well as assists in conducting safety audits and inspections to help maintain an effective safety culture. Assists in investigating incidents, accidents, near misses and identifying corrective action recommendations. Documents phone conversations, witness statements, medical reports, and accident investigation results, and files all documents consistently in company electronic system. Manages safety records, including incident reports and safety training records, in company LMS and SMS systems Provide First Aid and emergency medical response to employees in accordance with certified training, ensuring prompt and appropriate care until professional medical services arrive. Maintain First Aid supplies and equipment, including AEDs, to ensure readiness and compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Conduct or coordinate First Aid and CPR training for employees as needed to support workplace preparedness and regulatory requirements. Document and report First Aid incidents accurately in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Effective adult training methods and practical approaches and methodologies required to educate experienced as well new workers on routine or complex and/or emerging occupational health and safety issues. Understanding of generally applied techniques and strategies to design, develop, and implement comprehensive solutions. Applicable regulatory requirements including air permitting requirements and when each applies (OSHA General Industry and Construction standards). Analyze data relating to compliance with current regulations and make appropriate recommendations. Respond to emergencies and assist the Safety Manager/Officer under the incident command system. Being a flexible team member in a team-oriented environment to support day-to-day safety and risk management functions. Expressing ideas clearly in written and oral communication Formatting and producing correspondence and documents using current word processing applications. Maintaining, inputting, and retrieving data for training records, metrics, and injury & illness records Strong organizational skills. Promoting safety as a guiding principle and regular practice in accomplishing work focusing on safety improvements and complies with safety and health policies and procedures. Ability to access all work areas, including climbing narrow, steep stairs; donning fall protection gear to access heights as needed; entering confined spaces such containers and voids as needed.
