The Fire and Life Safety Manager is responsible for the life safety compliance program of the University of Iowa Health Care. Job DescriptionSalary: Tri-City Group is currently seeking an experienced Jobsite Safety professional for Cedar Rapids, IA. The primary function is to plan, implement, and supervise project safety, accident, and fire protection programs in compliance with corporate safety program standards. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: Controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and supervisory personnel Assisting corporate programs by developing employee and craft safety orientation training programs and implementing them upon completion Conducting work area surveillance inspections, air sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage, and personal injury investigations Reviewing documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per established procedures, and implementing corrective action as required Walk through to make sure PPE and OSHA guidelines are being maintained per state/federal regulations Tool talks, and other ongoing training/presenting, or teaching new safety protocols and procedures Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years' experience/Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or Health or equivalent combinations of training and related experience. Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects, data centers, and mission-critical sites, Commercial or Industrial Construction and/or industrial safety experience and a thorough understanding of and the ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company regulations Candidates must have the ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills OSHA 30 Required Construction-related certifications such as CHST Certification,preferred. Job Summary: The primary purpose of the Project Safety Coordinator is to minimize the risks of job related accidents and to promote health and safety at a designated project location. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Attend safety walks, inspections, regular meetings that may be required onsite Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe equipment operation Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace Fully understand NTI and Project Owners' safety documents, management tools, guidelines, and procedures Interface with foreman and NTI employees on a daily basis to ensure safe work practices and PPE requirements are being adhered to Manage incident reporting and analysis process for unplanned events onsite Interface with local leadership and NTI Safety Director to ensure a consistent approach to safety in the field Ensure daily briefing/ Pre-task Plans /JHA's are being performed onsite Oversee regular safety toolbox talk meetings Implement site specific safety plans and JHA's for high-risk activities Perform daily visual inspections of the jobsite in addition to weekly documented site safety inspections Perform behavioral based safety observations on a regular basis per NTI procedures Manage and upload all project safety documentation within project owner's online portal Perform other project related safety duties as needed Saturday work may be required based on project schedules and site demands. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety software Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers Education and Experience: 1-2 years of safety coordination experience. Data center experience a plus Certifications such as CHST, STSC, OSHA 500 may be preferred OSHA 30 Hour Certificate for Construction is required Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
