We are looking for Construction Site Safety Officer (SSHO) candidates to join our Southeast US team for military projects located in the Jacksonville, FL and Saint Mary's, GA areas. Our Site Safety Officers (SSHO)'s are responsible for planning, preparing, organizing, implementing, and executing all safety administrative and performance requirements for an assigned project in accordance with contract specifications, EM-385, OSHA, RQ internal Safety Management System, and Accident Prevention Plan (APP), while fully integrating with the project team to support the safe production of quality work. This position may provide oversight to daily activities for assigned direct reports. Local candidates will be given preference depending on location of project, though relocation or travel to on-site management will be required for the SSHO position. The SSHO position must work on-site. Job DescriptionDescription: Sets the standard for the organization's safety culture with a strong emphasis on industrial refrigeration safety. Acts as professional advisor and resource to the construction and service management teams including Project Managers, Site Superintendents, Foremen, and Service Managers. The ProSidian Engagement Team shall be capable of performing all geotechnical investigations including sampling and testing of soil (shallow, shallow subsurface, and deep subsurface), rock and/or other solid matter; sampling and testing of sediments; sampling and testing of groundwater; determination of aquifer parameters/monitoring of groundwater elevations, and sampling and testing of surface water. Reporting to the Safety and Compliance Manager, the Rail Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for driving safety and health management throughout the rail organization through development and reinforcement of “best practice” operating procedures. This position will support Drummac, as directed by the Safety and Compliance Manager. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in administering Drummac's training and development programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory safety requirements. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Contractor Safety Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Our ideal candidate will have: A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience At least five years of experience in the commercial construction industry, overseeing all aspects of jobsite safety for ground-up projects in healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors Be passionate about creating and maintaining a safe working environment, possessing a strong commitment to ensuring the well-being of all team members A comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as industry best practices, is crucial Strong leadership, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inform multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders of best safety practices Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites Requirements Minimum of three years related experience Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards. Responsibilities Plans, implements, communicates, and monitors safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations. Investigates all accidents and injuries; recommends and/or coordinates corrective actions with Safety Manager. Develops and implements safety training programs designed to instruct employees in general safe work practices plus specific instruction with regard to hazards unique to any job assignment; provides training for new employees. Maintains thorough knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations and web sites; maintains up-to-date knowledge of safety codes and regulations. Identifies potential safety hazards at all facilities; reports hazards and recommendations for eliminating/reducing to Safety Manager. Encourages employees and supervisors to report all unsafe conditions immediately and schedules or coordinates repairs as soon as possible. Encourages employees and supervisors to report any injury that occurs on the job, even a slight cut or strain, immediately. Review Superintendent toolbox talks and confirm that they are up to date. Prepares and maintains required safety reports. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Physical Demands: Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a company laptop, iPad, phone, and other business machines While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 25% walking, and 15% standing. Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is important. Talking, hearing and vision within normal ranges is important for conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect building plans, blueprints, and drawings. Activities include extended periods of standing or sitting and extensive work with measuring devices and other machinery. Heavy lifting is not expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally is required. Please note that climbing stairs is a physical requirement. Some offices contain an elevator, but one must be able to use stairs for fire drills and emergencies. Work Environment The job is performed indoors in a variety of settings, including the office, interior building job sites, and job sites outside. While performing the duties of this job on a construction job site, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles (before the use of air scrubbers); outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee may potentially run the risk of being exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses and vest) and safety gear (including appropriate clothing, shoes, and gloves) are required on job sites.
