Kelly Engineering is looking for a Safety Manager with H&S experience in a manufacturing facility to join our client's team to provide direction, planning, and oversight of their Environmental Health and Safety policies and programs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage 3-5 safety professionals
Lead EH&S for the plant, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and corporate policies.
Foster EHS culture across the organization with strategic plans.
Collaborate on cross-functional projects within and outside the EHS team.
Develop, implement, and assess EH&S programs and policies in line with corporate goals.
Continuously improve the facility's EHS management system.
Identify and mitigate facility safety, health, and environmental hazards.
Drive incident reporting and perform root cause analysis with subject matter experts.
Oversee workers' compensation and support modified duty and return to work programs.
Facilitate EHS training and ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Maintain accurate EHS records per regulatory requirements.
Lead teams to implement EHS and sustainability improvements.
Coach employees and leadership on safe work practices and risk management.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend control measures.
Analyze data for continuous safety improvement.
Conduct EH&S audits and evaluate program effectiveness.
Generate and review compliance reports for EPA and OSHA.
Manage medical team partnerships for assessments and medical support.
Establish PPE guidelines and manage vendor relationships.
Implement environmental sustainability initiatives to reduce resource use and waste.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in Health and Safety or Engineering
Certifications (preferred): CSP, OHST, CSHM
8-15 years of EHS management experience in manufacturing
Proven ability to lead culture change and improve safety performance
Expertise in industry health and safety standards and best practices

The Safety Coordinator is an entry-level safety professional position and is responsible for assisting in administering job site safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role will report to a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO:**
* Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas (Upwards of 80% of the Job is spent in the field doing audits and interacting with the crews).
* Assist in identifying, documenting, and recommending resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
* Participate in job pre-task planning and job site safety meetings.
* Assist with investigating personal injury and property damage accidents.
* Assist with compiling data, photographs, etc.; prepare appropriate forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local accident regulations.
* Issue various entry permits (i.e., confined spaces) as required.
* Assist in emergency rescues as required. Assist in maintaining fire protection and grounding systems
* Conduct Awareness level training and New Hire Orientations.

2 or 4 year college degree desired, preferably in a safety discipline
5 years in construction safety experience (electrical T&D safety experience preferred)
Must possess current OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer Card; OSHA 500
T&D lineman experience a plus
Exelon OPCO experience a plus
Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) or Board-Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) safety certification is desired
Understanding of electrical industry consensus standards such as OSHA, NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI
CPR/FA Certified (Trainer Preferred)
Ability to work independently and strong communication skills with the ability to influence behaviors

**Summary/Objective:**
Ensures construction projects are planned and executed in compliance with safety standards and without injury, illness, and incident or reliability issues related to the construction work. This position stewards contractors' and their subcontractors' adherence to appropriate safety standards and requirements.
**Essential Functions:**
* Actively participate in developing the safety aspects of a project
* Serve as Loss Prevention Systems, Inc. (LPS) coach/facilitator
* Conducts Root Cause Analysis and Job Safety Analysis development/reviews
* Attend daily work crew morning Start of Shift meetings
* Manage Injury/Illness case files for incidents
* Generate safety reports / logs and submit to appropriate personnel
* Represent Atlantic Constructors safety at construction kickoff meetings
* Perform observations on construction work in progress and identify opportunities for improving safety
* Participate on project specific incident investigations
* Ensure corrective actions are identified and tracked to completion
* Ensure strong communication with appropriate project team members
* Interact with site Safety, Health, Environmental and Industrial Hygiene to ensure projects are meeting site expectations
* Analyze Incident Reports
* Work with project teams to identify corrective actions needed, and track follow-up to completion
* Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and brings problems to supervisor, safety or HR
* Performs other duties as assigned

**Required:**
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial construction safety; or, equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills; team oriented
* Excellent oral, written communication and organizational skills
* Initiative to work with limited supervision
* Formal training in OSHA 1926 - Construction Safety Standards
* Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
* Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)
* Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
* Must be available to work assigned schedules

* Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus

Act as the primary communication link between the company and the corporate safety team.
Implement and enforce corporate and site-specific safety policies and programs.
Ensure compliance with all OSHA and local safety regulations.
